I have the CD version of Albion, but i can't play it on Dosbox, it breaks when i'm on the Space ship in the biginning. Can you help me in this, althought i dont have the GOG version (and Sorry for my bad English, i'm just learning it)

Oh, and when i press the esc button on the intro, the game stops and on the screen you can read: "Thank you for playing Albion" and "please insert the Albion CD". The same thin happens if i wait until the intro ends.

Hi,

DosBox usually requires advanced settings for some games and Albion is one of them.
Also you need to setup CD-Rom for DosBox (as it won't automatically read your physical device)
First make sure your optical drive is properly setup for DosBox (in dosbox ini file), then if you will still get any error, let us know
Or just create an image of your original cd and mount that in dosbox. Write that in the autoexec part of dosbox' conf file and you're set every time you start dosbox.
I did the following and it works for me:

1) install Albion in DOSBOX.

2) create a new folder in Albion's root folder (say "CD") and copy the Albion CD contents into it.

3) In Albion's root folder open the setup file as a text file for editing.

4) in the setup file set, set the SOURCE_PATH field to be:
SOURCE_PATH=.\CD\ALBION\
(so that it's looking in the "CD" folder you created instead of the E: drive)

5) save the changes and now you should be able to run Albion in DOSBOX.

Edit: This solved the "please insert the Albion CD" for me, and I would definitely adjusting the DOSBOX settings to make it run better ( more RAM, 10K cycles, etc...) As suggested by Gattz13.
