I am currently playing 7 PBEM games, which enough even for me. However, there's a fair few decent maps that shipped with Wizard's Throne, that look suitable for PBEM. Council of Wrath looks particularly good.

For future reference.

Also, I hope Wennejoekel is still bumping around somewhere.
I'd actually prefer some more AoW1, now that Mimo is on board. Especially as those games seem to die down.
In the famous words of Roberto Duran "No mas" for a little while... I need some breathing room. :)

Southern - You actually got me thinking about Wizards Throne. I've never played the campaign in that game and think I might try it. It's supposed to be better than the Shadow Magic campaign.

Also, I just copied all the maps from Wizards Throne into a sub folder of my scenario folder. Wouldn't have thought to do that if you hadn't mentioned that the maps are different than those shipped with Shadow Magic. Might be fun to play some multi-player with those maps.

One question... Is there any way to play the Wizards Throne campaign in the Shadow Magic system? That would allow the user patch and unit balancing to occur. It's not a big deal, but the interfaces are definitely different.

And no, I'm not going crazy like you and running MPE and six other versions of this game at the same time! I don't have that much free time on my hands!

I'll have you know I only currently regularly play AoW1, AoW2;WT, AoW2:SM patch 1.4, AoW2:Southern's mod, AoW2 Dwigg's 5.0, and Dwiggs 5.0 with custom resources for the undermountain map.

The AoW2:WT campaign is pretty good. I like it. However, it's pretty slow, which is the flipside of epic. Maybe once you feel you've clearly won a map, you should use 'crtl-shift-c win' to hasten things along.

Are you unable to extract the campaign files just like any other scenario file? I know the aow2:SM campaign files are locked (at least to non-modding mortals. I can access them thanks to something the MPE guys did). I don't know if I can access the WT campaign files thanks to some modding thingy I downloaded or because they weren't locked. Maybe I could upload them for you?

I tried just moving the files into the AoW:SM User Campaign folder, but they are not accessible from within the loading screen. Probably losing the "where is the player in the planned sequence" internal file somehow. Cause, you know that cool disc for WT or Map for SM is super critical. :)

No big deal. Can still play in the WT game. Later that is. Time to start making dinner first. The natives are getting restless.

Mimo:
Oh, that's a good point. You could play them as individual scenarios, but it'd take the campaign menu infrastructure (??) to have persistent heroes and research in each segment of the campaign.
Edit: actually... i can't play them in SM! I can only open them in the editor.

You could probably mod Wizard's throne by copying SM's Resource folder across to WT's....... might try that now out of curiousity.

Edit2: Nah, it just bugs out and looks very unhappy.

Edit3: You can't even rename it from campaign to scenario file and then play it!

i feel disappointed with myself.
