Day 4

One of my new recruits will probably fall soon.

Day 5

Trees. Why did it have to be trees?

Dang, you're whiny. ;-Q

Me, Day 5

Today we moved quickly through some forests and then swung from the branches for hours. We're having a great time!

Day 6

You guys got Earth instead of Fire? Really? Ugh. -.-

TS
Hi there neighbour!

TS
Me, Day 6

Stupid Eagles. Leave me alone you winged beasts. Go attack the other guy playing in the woods.

Day 6

Moving even more slowly through the forest.

Day 7

So, now things get interesting. The elves are running around going "WHHEEEEEEEE" while the poor humans are foot slogging through the woods.

The number of trees on this map is too **** high!

Mimo's Elves, Day 7

Oh... That's what they meant by "Reinforcement Point". I was waiting for you to attack the other tower. Oops. What else could possibly go wrong in this scenario?

Yorin, Day 8

I moved up and assaulted Jyri's forces. After a grand battle, there were only 6 survivors; 1 of his heroes, my three heroes, something stacked with my heroes, and a blade dancer chick of mine. I probably would have killed Jyri's remaining hero, but his wizard went down first.

I figured even if I lost the battle, I should be able to inflict more than enough casualties to allow my partner to mop up in short order, and I'd be able to pass Wenne everything I owned before losing.

This was an interesting map.
-Looking at the stats, I had an odd moment thinking "Hey, I reached my first city a full turn before anyone else", but then I remembered I alone had Explorer.
-Us managing to hit both reinforcement points helped. I don't think the Elf side reinforcements got involved when Mimo attacked Wenne, but Mimo couldn't use them on Wenne either. The extra units helped me decide to go ahead and try to nail Jyri on Turn 8.
-Wenne's hero converting Mimo's boars really turned that fight around on Mimo. I suspect Mimo would have won if the boars had not nearly all been converted during the battle.
-Explorer let me get rolling along the road, and thus on to the main island, quite a bit faster than the rest of you. Looks like some of you guys stopped to hit your vaults or ruins before leaving your island, too (which I skipped, since they were deep into the forest). In return, I got Fire spheres, bleh.
-I think I was significantly closer to the Human side reinforcement point than Jyri was. I did have to worry about a Karagh and multiple stacks of wolves; I don't know what he had in his way.
-I'm pretty convinced that the correct choice for Humans was to use the bunker. The item could be moved around, possibly recalled to the bunker for a lot of mana, and the human wizard really only came with Fire Pistol. Sending the Elf Wizard into the bunker is a harder call; entangle and swimming are both really useful abilities.
Book - You're right regarding most of these things. Wish I'd seen my battle against Wenne. He left a single archer outside of the watchtower so I was able to avoid fighting all 17 units and only had to fight 9. Figured it was worth it...

I totally missed the "take the tower, get reinforcements" clue. I thought they meant we should take the Wizard Tower and build or own damn reinforcements.

Re: Shadow Realm Towers - Seems like a place that both Humans should have gone.

I was feeling pretty good and was going to take the Wizard Tower in West, but the extra troops given to Wenne put me in a tough spot. Big time.

One of his heroes had Control Animal. That hero spent every turn converting a boar to his side. His druid also converted a single boar on the first round before dying, and your druid converted one of the boars BACK to your side before dying. His boars helped tie up your boars and some of your other units.

I received a game message about getting to the 'Reinforcement Point' first to get reinforcements, but I wasn't sure exactly where it was. There was a sign next to a Watch Tower saying "Reinforcement Point", so I figured "Why not?". I took it, and a stack of units that ranged from mediocre to decent appeared under my flag with no extra fanfare.

I let Wenne know what to look for, after I triggered the human one. I assume there was a sign over there too, but I don't know for sure.
Yeah I made a stupid mistake with that Archer, but figured you would not reach it anyway with sufficient forces. Turns out that was right - and a bit lucky.

Feels good to have you bite the dust for a change! Book was invaluable in giving me the heads up though on that Reinforcement point. I knew I had to take it swiftly to gain the upper hand.

Good game all!
