All-devourer, day 9

My hero and his pet Lord were on their way to attack a fortress when strange sounds came to their ears. Listening closely some words could be heard: Oh lord, please don't let me be misunderstood...

Urging to oblige, the two changed destination and plans to ensure that the elf bard can't ever be misunderstood.

Hopefully the other elven hero - quite beefier - and his pet dragon will be thankful and spare me?
Elves
Six good troops, including a hero and two level 3s brutally butchered by the demons. And several scouts across the map We need some friends. Still we got some revenge today.
All-devourer, day 10

While the elves' hero can't reach my tower just but, Julia summons some unicorns to make the last sprint and bring the battle to the hero. I wake up in the dark elf's tower, and find an amusing message of her boasting that she avenges her troops, ALL IN CAPS. I'd had the impression that her troops made all the work but ok!

Troops that include the red dragon that she bought together with a town... How much gold can be accumulated in but ten days?! Probably Meandor sent her his reserves understanding his fate. This world, which assists the elf brother and sister with the crutch of haste berry sped starts, shows all the symptoms of elf privilege...
Elves

Apart from my Red Dragon attacking two Goblins killing neither and retreating, a very productive day. A shame a former ally declared war on us, but hopefully they'll be regretting it soon.

Meandor, if only you could see us now!

TS

Didn't get anything from Mimo before they died, if only! But I feel I've abused the advantage of berries today more than Mimo was able, that map definitely not fair.
All-devourer, last day

Ah, I was hoping that the roads converted from shadowland to wasteland would prevent my demise at least 1-2 days more, but the haste berry/shadow weed placement decided the fate of this world despite my actions. Oneron, I believe we would have made it had you heeded my words and blocked teleporters instead of greedily capturing a neutral shadow demon city only to then be stuck converting it.

Julia may my hero give you all sorts of problems, with his pet Lord!

GGNR - not without editing all those plants away ;) the fast track in the centre is fun otherwise.

Elves

Well things are going well. Accidentally attacked a particular dwarf with a peasant, with unbelievable results. Not sure where to go now exactly, but we're peace with Syrons, so we'll focus our efforts on the Dwarves that betrayed us.

TS

Would it confuse you if I said you died despite my hero not using a single shadow weed? I found what could almost count as a bug to finish you off. Any guesses how the hero made it from your first base to Meandors?

Also my alignment means I can buy your lord and his hero when I find them :) Already bought Luna the Dark Elf, was that one of yours?
I know, I realised. Lucky to find that item? Not really - you had a choice of all the items in the map after all. The problem is that, since haste trees and shadow weeds can be used to cover the entire map in one turn and the elves are first in turn, they functionally exist only for the elves.

Right, and then there's peacemaker lol you'd really need to put in some effort to lose.

Edit: the blocking idea to my ally is from 2-3 turns ago, when your hero was in the underground - I saw this coming a long way.

Agreed. I was surprised to see them all sitting there available for me to use on Turn 1 as I went fourth in order. Definitely let me kit my Hero quite nicely. Too bad it didn't make the human in me a little smarter and more patient.

Funny thing is that I had a Spider's Web all primed and ready to use on your units to keep you from retreating. Duh. I really botched my own plans. Not the first or last time that will happen. :)
Yeah at first being peace keeper and pacifist annoyed me. One of the lessons I've learnt from Mimo is to focus more on developing my heroes, particularly their defence, but with pacifist was very hard to level them up.

Mimo, the 'bug' I used to kill Arnuz was after killing his main town, my next turn I carefully placed my hero directly under a haste berry tree on the surface, then shadow shifting (which uses up all your MPs), to see if it would replenish move points, which it did so he had no chance. Feels a bit undeserved, on top of all the other advantages we already had.

Btw how do you get your heroes to such high defence levels, like your one on Marlenia Mimo? He doesn't ahve many items, he's not a crazy high level, yet his defence is amazing. Whereas I've found on that one I've had the option of defence very rarely when my heroes have gone up levels? Is it just luck?

Warriors make the best heroes in multiplayer in my opinion. They get Defense as an option pretty much every time. And leadership on a troop in your stack provides attack and defense bonuses as well. My hero is teamed up with a gold medal Cardinal who has Leadership 4, so +2 ATT and +2 DEF.

Only in single player do the other hero types serve much purpose. However, I did like having a spell caster with healing teamed up with my hero early on. That let me be much more aggressive with my hero right from the get go. Don't ever poo-poo the spells blinding flash and weakness when you're trying to earn your hero some XP.

In Marlenia, you should be using disposable Druids to entangle all strong enemy for your hero to kill. Having Druids is freaking awesome. Even better than Spider Queens thanks to swimming, animal control, and concealment.

Re: Bug - That's funny. Glad I could set myself up as Target #1 in the beginning so you could slow roll everyone in the middle and end. :)

I really don't understand this map.
All sounds like good advice thank you :) My Torgal learnt entangle which was handy I did use Druids earlier on to help set things up for my hero, just rarely seemed to get defence as an option. It did a bit, he has got good defence, but nothing like yours. I didn't realise different hero types are more likely to get different types of upgrades.

Arnuz, thank you for Quall, he joined me for under 600 gold (I couldn't afford, but got my good hero to attack some ancient ruins then I could afford. Not a lot can beat two heroes with 20 or 18 defence and my two dragons left on the map hopefully. Especially as I kiled a dwarf hero by accidentally attacking it with a peasant two turns ago (sorry Southern, pole arm is perhaps overpowered!)

Yes, it is.

Block 5 on swordsman is as well. = +10 Defense against the first attack.
I just meant as my peasant accidentally attacked his hero and won.

3 down, 2 to go
Hey, I sent this game off. Just want to make sure it was received because my wrapper is saying one of the games I have sent couldn't be received properly
