Hey all,

I recently just got Age of Wonder's Wizard's Throne, but I am having some issues. I knew something was wrong once I got into the game, everything seemed to still, and I knew something was definitely off when the characters moved. They didn't move smoothly, they seemed to teleport from space to space, when I know that in youtube vids I saw, the characters are supposed to have smooth animations. And I know it isn't my laptop since it's current generation technology so it's not like it can't handle it.

Can someone help with this please? I need a way to make the game run smoother. I turned turning off Direct3D and putting it in Window mode but that didn't help either.

EDIT: I also have the same problem with Shadow Magic. If wondering what the specs are, I am running on a Windows 7 computer, i5 processor, with Intel HD 4000 Graphics card.

I really don't need to know what the specs are, the game came out around a decade ago and it is not 3d graphics. What you need to do is try running it in compatibility mode. Windows typically does this for you if you run it's "troubleshooting". WIndows 7 specifically has a "troubleshoot compatibility" option, but The Wizards Throne also seems to have an executable for compatibility you may try, AoW2Compat.exe

You may simply have your unit animation speed turned up. I have mine turned up.

When was the last time you restarted your computer? I've had the game stutter when I haven't restarted my computer in a long while.

I've been running AoW:SM with no issues on one machine and plenty of issues on the other machine though both have similar specs. Right clicking on the program in my start menu and selecting the compatibility tab to deactivate both compatibility and desktop composition disabling seemed to solve my issues. For some reason, both were activated and the compatibility was set for Windows NT on my machine...

Hope you had success.
