This is a general question to the community as to whether TCP/IP multiplayer is stable in the current GOG.com release of the original Age of Wonders.
A few friends and I started a 4-player game on After the Fall and were able to play a few turns without issue. However, at the start of maybe the 7th or 8th turn, we were unable to issue commands to our troops. We could select a stack, gauge movement paths by left-clicking once, but when we would double-click to commit the move order, nothing would happen.
The game was still animating just fine, the music was still playing, and we could even chat with one another via the in-game Chat window. But the gameplay itself was frozen and no amount of waiting brought it back.
I'm curious to know if anyone else has encountered these issues. Is TCP/IP known to be generally instable under Windows 7? We were not using Hamachi, and were still able to Find Games and join and play a few rounds.
