So i chose to go the imerial guard route

I appear to be stuck in the pass, neither gate will open, no more convo's to be had, journal says weaken the ordu but how If I cant event talk to anyone?

This confused me as well - simply select the MAP icon and it should come up with a text box asking if you want to visit the Ordu camp. Select "yes" and you get transported there.

It's kind of stupid that you can't just click on one of the gates to do this - took me ages to figure this out after I'd run all around the base wondering WTF was going on...

No problems. I only figured this out after a long time of wondering what was going on - I think I finally clicked the map more out of frustration than anything, and then it worked... I think there are only two places where this happens, and the other one is in the middle of the desert so there's nothing else to click on (though I still looked for the "exit squares" and only clicked on the map later).
