So I encountered some kind of bug that's caused Ethan to replace Olivia as the character that I chose to save. He appears as an NPC and is in all the cutscenes. Apparently it's a common enough bug:

But the solution stated there is to replay the game from the moment where you choose who to save. I don't want to do that if there's no guarantee that it's not going to happen again. I've looked into editing the save file, but the file says that I saved Olivia and I don't know where or what else to edit. Anyone ever encounter this problem or have any idea how to get Olivia back?
