Hi, I'm on WXP Pro with a Sony Playstation Controller and a USB connector. WXP itself correctly recognizes the controller and using the test application everything works fine (the one from WXP).
Inside 1nsane however, I can't get the analog part of the controller to work properly. Every digital pressed/not-pressed button works, when choosing "steer" and moving the analog stick, it gets detected and named as the corresponding axis, however in-game the control don't work properly.
When I choose "steer", move the analog stick to the left, it gets labeled as the chosen axis, inside the game it always steers left and I can only counterpart this by holding the stick right and the car drives straight ...
Has anyone been successful?
thanks

After searching and searching the web again, seems I had better keywords then last time, I found some useful informations/insight:
* Some people claimed that the pristine version without any patch worked without problems with gamepads
* Basically everyone trying to get analog input working has this problem
* People using Logitech had the joy to use some kind of tool to fix their situation (e.g. 1nsane gamepad tutorial)
The information so far I got was from this page, and it also worked for me:
Setting Up Joystick - Wheel and Gamepad Problemss
Modifying the specific byte in the registry did it for me for steering. I somehow managed also to get analog accelerate and break to work, but wasn't satisfied enough and gave up. OTOH, I realized analog acceleration for such a game would be useless anyway :-)
Some very useful links:
* Quickie's Insane Patch
* Insane4x4s - Where Rocks Dont Get In The Way = Rocks Are The Roads
Btw, according to http://www.quickiespatch.com/insanecodes.html it's possible to pass values to the exe to disable e.g. playing the movies (without moving them out of the way) or enabled alt-tab. However it seems that the GOG wrapper prevents this, but on my Laptop it worked by just invoking Game.exe instead of the wrapper anyway. YMMV
It was also interesting to observer that there seems still an somehow activate fan base around 1nsane, especially due the possibility to use custom map and cars (wasn't aware of that).

i can confirm that the registry change does indeed work. it fixed the problem with my logitech rumblepad 2...
On a related note, I use the Saitek Cyborg, and the game works flawlessly with the left analog stick. The right analog stick will not work at all. I can use the press-in feature, but directional movements do not register.
Saitek has software to 'help' games recognize its buttons, but I didn't even bother to try it for 1nsane.
