So, after almost 3 hours playing...
I love this game! It's very old school, slow paced and eerily atmospheric. I've only met two characters so far, but their voice actors did a wonderful job. The puzzles haven't been too hard so far, but neither too easy: this game does NOT hold your hand, and that's almost a breath of fresh air in the modern adventure game market. It's a very old school game: no WASD, you play this just with your mouse and your brains. You do have a key to highlight the hotspots, but that's about it. The care put into level design is higly commendable, the asylum can be very VERY creepy, and the sound design contributes perfectly to create a very unnerving atmosphere. By the looks of, it seems that there are different ways to approach the game and the story, and this could mean a lot of replayability, with potentially different endings or at least dialogue options and outcomes. That said, it does have a few cracks (just like the walls in the building): some transitions are very slow, and sometimes it takes a while to move in-between rooms or locations: you never know if the game froze on you. Also the intro does not have any subtitles, which can be a hindrance for non-native English speakers like myself, kinda slowing down the immersion within the game. But I'm sure all these things will be patched pretty soon (although, considering how long it took for the game to be finally released, one can never know!) All in all, despite the shortcomings (which are very minor anyway), I'm really enjoying the game so far, and can't wait to delve deeper into it and discover the mysteries of the Asylum!
