Me and my brother played a demo of this game with friends. Despite being young at the time, we were not scarred at all and eventually got the full game. We played many nights as each cast member (Using the All Vs All rule). The combat is pretty unique and I believe is still unique now (each creature has three attacks on cool down and fight in a 3D arena). It's also fascinating reading up their lore and learn their matchups (e.g Brontu, a big rhino like creature that charges through things will have a bad time against flying foes like the Killcycle and Wasp). The strategy mode is also good which is basically like Fire Emblem but our home was the aforementioned mayhem mode. Even after all these years, we still think about this game and the cast while pounder about the sequel. It seems to remain an obscure game unless it will make an appearance in Astro Bot but a modern re-release could give it a new fresh of air. Oh yeah, the Japanese version is wild from what I've heard but that's a story for another time.

Black Matrix Zero
Black Matrix ZeroBlack Matrix Zero combines standard tactical RPG gameplay with a pastiche of Judeo-Christian religious themes, particularly concerning the nature of good and evil and the interplay between Heaven, Hell, and Earth and the denizens thereof. The game is set in the same fictional world as the original Black/Matrix game, though hundreds of years prior. Three divisions of humankind share the same world - white-winged people who are called angels, black-winged people who are called devils, and wingless people. Those who have wings have great powers and pay little mind to the wingless ones. The angels rule the world via a religious organization called the Prodevon Church, which ensures both the cooperation and ignorance of the wingless people.

Black/Matrix II
Black/Matrix IIRage was one of the four Great Generals of the Demon Army, but he was slain in a battle against the Angels. He has recently been revived, but has lost all memories of his previous life. With the war between Demons and Angels still continuing with no end in sight, he must restore his power and build his forces back up to strike back against the Angel Army. Black/Matrix II is a turn-based tactical strategy game similar in structure to Final Fantasy Tactics, and the sequel to Black/Matrix. Characters level up and learn abilities individually, and it is possible to recruit a variety of characters, though only 6 at a time can be deployed into a battle. There are also several different romantic interests to pursue, with multiple endings for each depending on the player's choices throughout the game.

Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor
Shin Megami Tensei: Devil SurvivorTokyo is in full lockdown, the government's swift, coldblooded response to a surprise demon invasion. Trapped within the sprawling metropolis is the city's helpless populace, forced to turn on each other in order to survive. A mysterious piece of technology, the COMP, falls into the hands of you and your peers. This device allows you to form contracts, forcing demons to serve you in battle against the otherworldly creatures. There are others with COMPs, so-called demon tamers, who seek to use the demons to satisfy their own whims-be they for justice, peace, or power-in the chaos that was once downtown Tokyo. Where did the demons come from? Why did they appear? Who created the COMPs, and what is their purpose? These questions must soon be answered, for if you fail to solve the mystery, much more is at stake than your own lives.
