This one is my personal favorite Armored Cores. If it ever gets on here, for the love of gawd, make online play available! Climbing the ranks to number 1 is really fun as well in the arena. I never got why they ever got rid of the arena in any of the Armored Core games after the PS2 version (I am aware that the ones on the PSX have one as well, but you could not just battle against the ranking members in said arena in the first one like you can in others). I completely get that the controls are not so great, but somehow, I just adapted then mastered them. Give me a reason to get back in the arena GOG!!!
One of the harder Armored Cores, esp. in the second half of the game. Also, definitely the most influential of the Armored Cores on 6 with the Satellite looking eerily similar to the PCA Satellite in 6, not to mention the final boss sharing a similar look and name to the Chapter 4 end boss in 6.
This at the top of my top 5 Armored Cores. I started the game with a fresh save, and I still remember when that one AC ambushes you from around a corner when you're trying to leave the area. I believe it was deployed by the IBIS to stop you, and it proceeded to do so. I did overcome it, and this particular part has stuck with me and made me a better pilot in the end. The Armored Core series is full of these kinds of moments and is part of what makes them all so special.
Star Fox 64The update to the 16-bit Super NES title continues the original's on-rails 3D shooting action on the Nintendo 64. Starring Fox McCloud, Peppy Hare, Falco Lombardi, and Slippy Toad, this new 64-bit version contains 15 plus levels, easy, medium, and difficult paths, forward-scrolling levels as well as full 3D realms, and a three-part multiplayer mode using a four-player split screen. In addition to plenty of Arwing action, the game introduces a new hover tank and even features a submarine level. The 8-megabyte cartridge also boasts voice samples from 23 different characters instead of the original's animal noises. Star Fox 64 was the first game to feature Rumble Pak support. Mechwarrior II was developed in-house by Activision as the successor to their original Mechwarrior. While this time there are no dynamic campaign and mercenary actions, the Clan culture is integrated into the two campaigns. Different clans have different mechs and different rules, even different weapons. You can customize your mechs in order to use less than the "par" force in order to get a higher rating. The full 3D environment wasn't pretty as this was before the 3D accelerators made their debut, but it's still better than anything that came before. Let addition of NetMech allowed users to fight each other online. When 3D cards came along, special versions were created to take advantage of 3D texturing. While not QUITE as replayable as Mechwarrior, it's nonetheless a classic.

With the aid of great magic, Arech stole into the chambers of King Maximus and wrested the Sceptre from the grip of the sleeping King. He then released his evil forces, ordering his minions and lieutenants to seize the land in whatever manner they pleased (as long as it involved considerable amounts of pain and terror). Arech retired to his new lair on the four continents and waited for King Maximus’s certain resistance. The King and his forces, however, offered none. Fearing some kind of trickery, Arech peered into his prophetic crystal to see what Maximus was up to. The crystal showed the King lying in bed, his face pale and gaunt like death itself.
Over the King stood a noble young knight with the strength and resolve of great leader. The King was speaking. "Come here" he gasped, "I am weak and breath is a luxury. Please." He extended his hand and the great leader drew close. "You must restore my kingdom. I, too, must be restored. I am tied to this land and as it dies, so do I. My days here are numbered. You must recover the Sceptre if I and my land are to live."Arech watched this exchange and quickly buried the Sceptre somewhere on the four continents. He draw a map of its location, then shredded it into 25 pieces. He gave one to each of his 16 villainous nobles, kept one for himself, and the other eight he hid with powerful artifacts around the four continents.
