It's like Bloober sat down for weeks to decide exactly what was working and wasn't working in the original Silent Hill 2, and PERFECTED IT. Seriously, they took an already perfect game and made it perfecter. They expanded the maps without betraying the original world. They expanded the story without betraying the feel of the game. The made combat easier...and ratcheted up the difficulty of the enemies perfectly. They made more challenging puzzles without over-complicating the game. It's truly remarkable. This is the new standard for video game remakes. Silent Hill 2 has always been one of the greatest horror experiences of all time, regardless of the method of storytelling. Now it's modernized and expanded to be longer, more terrifying, more beautiful, and more Silent Hill than any other Silent Hill before it. Kudos, Bloober. Well played.

I played the original game when I was decades younger. Nostalgia, nostalgia, nostalgia... There are already many games in this format and style on the Gog website. Alone in the Dark, Draugen, Call of Cthulhu, Sinking City. I want this adventure game with elements of horror and survival to be in my library of Gog games.
Why Silent Hill 2 Remake Belongs on GOG The original Silent Hill 2 is widely considered one of the greatest psychological horror games of all time. With its haunting atmosphere, mature storytelling, and iconic moments like Pyramid Head, it's a masterpiece that has influenced countless games and media. Now, with the Silent Hill 2 Remake on the horizon—featuring modern graphics, updated gameplay, and immersive sound design—fans are eager to return to the fog-covered streets of Silent Hill like never before. But not everyone wants DRM or launchers tied to their games. That’s where GOG comes in. GOG is the home of DRM-free gaming—where classic and modern titles can be owned and preserved without always-online requirements or intrusive software. A game as timeless as Silent Hill 2, even in its remake form, deserves to be playable forever, without being locked behind DRM or a single launcher. Releasing Silent Hill 2 Remake on GOG would give players: Full ownership, with offline play and no restrictions A way to preserve this modern reimagining of a classic Access for horror fans who care about game preservation and freedom Silent Hill is about fear, mystery, and the unknown—not license checks and background apps. Let’s give this beloved title the release it truly deserves. Bring Silent Hill 2 Remake to GOG. Let the fog roll in—on our terms.

So here the thing. if you own the steam version, the exe is drm free when you click play from the exe in its steam folder. I loved playing through the whole game on steam. And would love to reply it again but on another platform that really makes DRM Free Happen. Plus if people are willing to buy the game knowing you can play it offline shows THIS GAME NEED TO OFFICALLY COME TO GOG! Its a Must in my opinion. I want to own my newer games. Even if its in Digital Form.
