Shin Megami Tensei: Persona (2009)

Genres:Role-playing (RPG)
Game modes:Single player
Story:Persona is a philosophical game that takes place in a world close to our own. It is a departure from the typical swords and sorcery, and it delivers a tale of dreams, the purpose of life, and who we are as individuals. In Persona you have modern weapons like an Uzi and an AK-47. And instead of always fighting monsters, you are given the opportunity to talk your way through a confrontation. By talking things out, you can earn components of spells the more components you have, the more powerful your spells become.Show more

I would love to play OG one. And make sure it has both Japanese and American soundtrack. Not sure about localizations since I find the localization funny. Atlus should publish this game on GOG because it does have an official PC port that was sadly only in Japan.
went on a LONG ramble on the megami ibunroku page, but my additions relating to the psp edition are all as follows; the UI may be boring, but it does make for a far more accessible game, the localisation is brilliant and gives every character so much depth and time to shine, sqq is a brilliant route fleshing out the characters sebec gives less attention to (and nanjo,,, nanjo gets everything), the atmosphere (w an OST mod) is still unparalleled in this version (w the PSP OST it's still got an eerie vibe, albeit you have to imagine naoya's got his bloody headphones in all game), and the voice acting is SO good. here, personieeeee! w/o a remake coming anytime soon, this game going up on GOG would be so much better than nothing, as well as an accessible starting point for new players. a toggle for old and new osts would also be great,,, but i totally get it if it's a straight port. the game in and of itself will be a pleasure to play on PC finally <3
I bought a PlayStation Vita solely to play this game and its direct sequel(s), and I do not regret that choice at all. From the addicting gameplay loop that only works because it’s dated to the surprisingly thought provoking story, this is a game I wish more people would be allowed to play.
Persona is and always will be the greatest JRPGS. I have all the Remasters and remakes on Xbox(physical and digital) since P5 Royal came out, it would bring all the fans instant joy if the first game had a remake or a remaster for this very first instalment, hopefully on next-gen consoles.😁

Love the Persona franchise, not the first I'd played in the series or my favorite. However I still have fond memories from playing it, and this is where one of my all time favorite series began.

The original 3 persona games are vastly different experiences from the modern 3-5 and especially their most recent ports. Curious fans should at least have the OPTION to check out the original 3 without having to resort to ROMS and fan translations (no hate against them, but when the series is this popular, we shouldn't NEED to resort to the goodwill of hard-working fans).
Those games also need your vote!

Tales of Destiny
Tales of DestinyTales of Destiny is a follow-up to Tales of Phantasia. Like its predecessor, it has the structure of traditional Japanese role-playing games, but substitutes turn-based combat for action-oriented one. Battles take place on separate side-scrolling screens and resemble those of a fighting game. The player controls the main hero, navigating him on the battle screen and performing various attacks and combos. Other party members are controlled by the game's AI, but it is possible to pause the battle at any time and assign new combat style to any one of them.
