a great and smooth robot arena combat from the ps2 days. also came with a great soundtrack option from real bands. and now i am filling out more words because I was to concise.
The game that introduced me to the mech genre. Ever since playing this game I’ve been left with an insatiable thirst for more mech games. Very fluid and fast paced gameplay for its time.

I'm just happy to know about this game. I saw a poster of it on the wall of a lan house / game store and some time after I wanted to play it, the poster was not there anymore, but the store owner still remembered the poster and the game. Hidden gem.
This was one of my top 5 Ps2 games i've ever owned. It's gotten me through rough periods of my life when i was younger and this game sparked so much inspiration from me. I was sad to hear that Konami unplugged the multi-player servers i was really bummed, but hearing a possible chance to connect with other people with this game sounds like a dream i thought would have never been true if you asked me when i was 12 years old.

Great gameplay, cool interface. It allowed cool customization of mechs that were not available before, being able to have a smaller/faster mech and larger/tankier ones was cool. The battles were super fun in pacing, just a completely underrated gem.

In a world where reboots are drowning us all, the best games are simply forgotten. As with many ps2 games, they really did a lot of special things with this one. The mechanics are different, the story is unique and deep, the world created is immersive and fun! So many have tried to make a mech game that works/sells, and this was their example all along. Oh, to see a modern version in UE5!
That's probably my first mecha game ever (or my first mecha in PS2), I wish get this on PC. I loved spending hours and hours playing it alone against the AI (thinking they were people, I was a kid haha), I would love to relive those moments.
SLAI is a masterpiece which deserves to be preserved, and needs to be brought back for a sequel. Konami once again does not fully utilize their intellectual property
I had fond memories of this game although I havent finished it. Wish it comes to PC so we can all enjoy it to the fullest! SLAI was my childhood dream come true aside from GTA SA. BRING THIS TO PC!
This is my childhood game for life. Even got to know my favorite band as well from this game, which is Zebrahead. Maybe for some this doesn't tantamount to famous titles back in the day, but for me this game has a special place in my heart, and will always be.
Those games also need your vote!

Freelancer
FreelancerEight hundred years prior to the start of our story, bitter conflict divided all of mankind. A handful of colonists struck out on their own to begin anew - far away from the Earth and its turmoil. Several ships were launched with enough equipment and supplies to give the hundreds onboard a fighting chance - but since the area around far-off Sirius had never been surveyed, no one really knew what to expect. What they found was a new frontier of free-flowing natural resources, unexplored territories, great wonders and lurking dangers. Each ship, representing the clusters of people and their earthly place of origin, settled into different parts of the galaxy pre-selected by their ship-board computer to give them the best chance of survival. Life was hard in the beginning, but over the 800 years the different colonies prospered and expanded their territories, claiming more and more systems for their own. Survival and propagation eventually led to growth and profit as each of the colonies developed specialties and fostered commerce. As the colonies grew and time passed their connections with their roots on Earth dwindled and they lost their memories of the conflicts of the past. Soon their attention was dominated by new, more immediate conflicts. Feelings of lost ancestral connection spurred anachronism in the look of the great cities, and created a somewhat distorted image of each colony's cultural heritage. In the ever-expanding outer edge of the territories, frontier lawlessness prevailed. The Houses: Each shipboard colony that left Earth carried some memory of its origins in its name. The Liberty carried Americans, The Bretonia flew from The United Kingdom and surrounding territory, The Kusari from Asia, and the Rheinland launched with Germanic cargo. As each ship settled and colonies began to expand, they knew little about each other and their advancing development. Finally, little by little, the individual colonies found each other and began to set up trade routes to link their systems for commerce and solidarity. Today, with each colony firmly rooted in its respective corner of the galaxy, the colonies rely heavily on each other for trade and industry but also compete for resources and new territories in the Border Worlds. The colonies mandate member governments in "The New Alliance" within the Sirius sector. To control conflicts, each colony has forged alliances and treaties with others as they have grown. Competition remains fierce, however. Struggles rage for supremacy in business, commerce, resources, power and control. There can be tenuous peace between colonies' political agendas, but the grabs for holdings constantly unsettle the volatile frontier.

Life & Death
Life & DeathLife & Death is a game which casts you as a doctor in a hospital. Your job is to diagnose patients and administer appropriate therapies, or even perform surgery when necessary. To diagnose a patient, you have to press on his or her abdomen, to see which portions of the stomach cause pain. Basing on this knowledge, you can choose a therapy for him (observation, medication or referring to another specialist) or administer a X-Ray or ultrasound scan to get more information about his illness. In some cases, surgery will be necessary. You're the surgeon and you have to perform the operation very carefully, adhering strictly to the procedures, preserving hygiene, and maintaining care when cutting up the patient. Should you mistakenly administer the wrong therapy, or kill your patient at the operating table, you're kicked into the medical school, where you're given hints as to what you've done wrong.
