by Taito

Story:An ambitious and unethical scientist, a secret experiment gone horribly awry, and an artificially intelligent supercomputer gone mad; all the necessary ingredients for the imminent extinction of mankind. You are humanity's last hope, a hotshot pilot given the unenviable task of flying an experimental fighter into the dark heart of the Con-Human Network. Seize the controls of three Wave Rider spacecraft, each equippped with the WR-01 primary weapon array, WR-02 secondary lock-on laser system, and WR-03 single-use weapon for emergency situations. RayCrisis: Series Termination is the final entry in Taito's acclaimed trilogy of shooters, and it bombards your CRT with an abundance of fourth-generation optical stimulation: multilevel scrolling, transparency and lighting effects, and enough polygons to overload your cerebral cortex. Dodge, weave, and blast through two play modes, disintegrating wave after wave of relentless bogeys, to achieve high scores and unlock hidden bonuses. Prepare your senses, reinforce your nerves, and limber your trigger finger - the final assault has begun!Show more

The PC port is a great version to play with. Though Windows 9x version is a beta port from PS1 version, it actually surpasses from the original PS1 version. The graphics got improved a little bit but the loading times(which were way too long in PS1 version)got shortened from original PS1 version thanks to HDD installation system. Taking a good comparison from original arcade version, only single play system is critical cons in this version. But you can select the stage freely(and you can select same stages for 3 times!) from the first time and you can choose the hidden high level spaceship;WR-03! and if you managed to reach the true ending wth all 3 ships, the two R-GRAY ships from previous series awaits you as cameo. and they are little bit hard to maneuvering but they are really powerful and attractive! The difficulty of game became easy to access so that everyone would enjoy well. The encroachment system got improved as well; while under 25% could reach the true ending in arcade version, now you can access the true ending even until 99% in this version! You can enjoy the special mode which were never existed in original arcade and the gameplay is very special and unique from arcade mode! Anyway many retro & SHMUPs gamers usually prefer the previous 2 series of RAY series,(but it is obvious that RayForce/Layer Section and RayStorm/Layer Section 2 are the one of the greatest masterpiece in SHMUPs.) I think RayCrisis: Series Termination is also a great masterpiece in SHMUPs too! so please GOG!!!

The third game in the Ace Combat franchise, it was released in Japan in 1999. Players control an aircraft and must complete various mission objectives, such as destroying squadrons of enemies or protecting a base from enemy fire. Electrosphere carries a more futuristic science fiction-inspired landscape and world compared to the modern-day theme of its predecessors. The japanese version of Ace Combat 3 differs significantly from the international release: its campaign features 52 missions split among different paths depending on in-mission decisions. The story centers around the "Intercorporate War" in 2040 between Neucom Incorporated and the General Group.
