Similar to the first game the player has a choice of characters to play as: Tako the Octopus (aka Mr. Parodius), Pentarou (son of the penguin from Antarctic Adventure), Twin Bee (main character of TwinBee) and the Vic Viper spaceship from Gradius. However in this game they each have unique weapons and upgrades.
The game has ten stages and like the first game it features a mix of characters and enemies from different Konami series as well as absurd fantasy elements.Show more

Virtua CopPlayers assume the role of police officers in a first-person perspective and use a light gun to shoot criminals and advance through the game, with penalties for shooting civilians. The players could also shoot powerups that grants him a weapon or a life. The weapon is lost if the player is hit, but not if he shoots a civilian. Virtua Cop was notable for its use of polygonal graphics, which were subsequently used in both House of the Dead and Time Crisis, instead of the two dimensional sprites that were popular for previous games in the same genre. It is also notable for being one of the first games to allow the player to shoot through glass. The game mainly consists of the player shooting his way through hordes of different types of Nazis, ranging from normal soldier to ninjas. To deal with the large amount of enemies, the player has access to many typical WWII-weapons like the German MP40 or K98 rifle. In addition, during the course of the game he finds the medallion and learns four powers. While at first entering the Veil only allows him so see enemies more clearly and use strange flying creatures as bombs, he is later able to slow down time, surround himself with a protective shield or make himself stronger.
