Story:Mercenaries 2: World in Flames is an explosive open-world action game set in a massive, highly reactive, war-torn world. A power-hungry tyrant messes with Venezuela's oil supply, sparking an invasion that turns the country into a warzone. But for you, international crisis is all upside: You are a mercenary, and you profit from chaos. Mercenaries 2 features a slew of potential clients, all willing to pay you to do their dirty work. Dirty deeds, done for exorbitant fees. These are world powers with deep pockets, deep grudges, and enough arms and ammo to start World War III. This is your kind of environment. Mercenaries 2 features the latest and most dangerous in civilian and military tech, everything from shiny new sports cars, to the future-tech satellite-guided bunker-busting mini-nuke. Tanks, APCs, boats, luxury automobiles - you name it, you can have it delivered to you in real time. And if you run out of cash you can always 'acquire' the gear you need in the field. If you see it, you can buy it, steal it, or blow the living crap out of it. Play your own way, or play with the help of a friend in the new cooperative multiplayer mode. You are not a soldier. You don't have to play by anyone's rules. You have your own code: you will fulfill the terms of the contract, no matter what. Not everyone in the world of Mercenaries is as honorable. Everyone will try and screw you, given the chance. They think they can get away with it, because they don't know rule #1: EVERYBODY PAYS.Show more

Played it back on the 360 I was impressed by the building destruction and the function that you could call in vehicle just where ever was so fun, it was fun to just drive around on the map also

I loved playing this on the 360 many years ago. The open world felt full and satisfying. The destruction was incredible to behold at its peak. Setting off a nuke not only felt powerful, but left a genuine long-lasting impact in the game world, which genuinely surprised me. The fact that this game wasn't preserved/carried over onto the Xbox One is a shame. It's an error we can correct by voting for it here.

Hopefully this gets re-released on GOG with a few bug fixes to bring it up to par with with the console version because while not as good as Mercenaries 1 it was still great being able to blow everything up.

THIS GAME HAS TO COME BACK! Was so fun playing on the 360, such a good game to play, the destruction physics was amazing for its time, the collectables and challenges i remember being fun to grind. Story was good, its just a shame the only way to play it is having a 360 and the physical copy. If GOG got this, it would honestly make my year!

I finally got this game towards the end of the 360 days, it was 1 of the very few games i could play all day. Collecting supplies to watch it stock pile in the mansion, working with the pirates and destroying buildings was so satisfying. Ive played thousands of games since and not 1 has been able to scratch that itch that this game did, not even mercenaries 1. Ive been debating on buying a new 360 just to play this again, i miss my russian pilot

I'll fully admit this wasn't quite as good as the first game at least in terms of story but man it was still fun and the gameplay loop was still top notch. I play the PS3 version now and then because my PC version is a PITA to do anything with.

Everybody pays, but only when Everybody PLAYS. This game is something of an OG in the field of freedom to roam and destroy things. It was such a fantastic series!
I used to spend hours and hours on this game with my brother.. The drop in/drop out co-op was amazing. We both loved the first game but to be able to play 2 together sealed the deal for us. Driving tanks through the city, clearing out pockets of resistance.. Flying two helicopters loaded with AI troops into an objective to wage war on a stronghold.. Accidentally making both the AN and the Chinese factions angry and having to run for our lives in the craziest fashion possible.. There was one time my bro's boat got hit with a rocket and sent him catapulting into the water, which then led to a chaotic water rescue with me yelling "Where's are you!?" To him responding "I'm ROFLing in the sea!" As large waves toss him around.. So many great memories. We were heartbroken when we weren't able to play anymore. Really, really hope I can dig into this wonderful game again!

My dad used to let me watch him play Mercenaries 1 and eventually let me play myself, no game can ever beat running around as Mattias In Mercenaries and 2 is just an amazing continuation of that
Some core memory stuff right here wish I could play it again. I know it prob dose not stand up but I wish I could relive those moments with that great music blowing stuff up, the guy going "I dont need to walk to fly".
Those games also need your vote!

Half-Life 2: Episode One
Half-Life 2: Episode OneHalf-Life 2: Episode One is the first of a planned trilogy of expansion packs/episodes for the 2004 first-person shooter game, Half-Life 2. The episode takes place immediately after the end of Half-Life 2, in the war-torn setting of City 17. The player is forced to deal with the effects of their actions during the main game. The episode is a stand-alone game; while a continuation of Half-Life 2, it does not require the original game to be installed or registered to a user's Steam account to play. It takes advantage of several major upgrades to the Source engine since the release of Half-Life 2, primarily its high dynamic range rendering capabilities and the upgraded facial animation system. Episode One was released together with Half-Life Deathmatch: Source, a port of the original Half-Life's multiplayer, which doubles as Episode One's multiplayer component. The retail copies of Episode One also come with Half-Life 2 Deathmatch for those who have not previously purchased the later title.

South Park
South ParkSingle player takes the form of a "Story" mode divided into five episodes and fifteen linear levels. The player will face weak minions (which change based on the episode), plus occasional sub-bosses which will try to escape into town. The final level is devoted to a unique boss fight. Players use quirky weapons ranging from infinite yellow snowballs to cow launchers and toxic Terrance and Phillip dolls. Every weapon has a secondary fire, and players switch between the four main characters when they switch weapons - each of the four kids shares a single life bar because of this. The kids will comment on game actions as they occur, with heavier profanity censored with bleeps. The kids will get angrier (and fouler) as their health depletes, until they finally give up on saving the town and go home.

Freelancer
FreelancerEight hundred years prior to the start of our story, bitter conflict divided all of mankind. A handful of colonists struck out on their own to begin anew - far away from the Earth and its turmoil. Several ships were launched with enough equipment and supplies to give the hundreds onboard a fighting chance - but since the area around far-off Sirius had never been surveyed, no one really knew what to expect. What they found was a new frontier of free-flowing natural resources, unexplored territories, great wonders and lurking dangers. Each ship, representing the clusters of people and their earthly place of origin, settled into different parts of the galaxy pre-selected by their ship-board computer to give them the best chance of survival. Life was hard in the beginning, but over the 800 years the different colonies prospered and expanded their territories, claiming more and more systems for their own. Survival and propagation eventually led to growth and profit as each of the colonies developed specialties and fostered commerce. As the colonies grew and time passed their connections with their roots on Earth dwindled and they lost their memories of the conflicts of the past. Soon their attention was dominated by new, more immediate conflicts. Feelings of lost ancestral connection spurred anachronism in the look of the great cities, and created a somewhat distorted image of each colony's cultural heritage. In the ever-expanding outer edge of the territories, frontier lawlessness prevailed. The Houses: Each shipboard colony that left Earth carried some memory of its origins in its name. The Liberty carried Americans, The Bretonia flew from The United Kingdom and surrounding territory, The Kusari from Asia, and the Rheinland launched with Germanic cargo. As each ship settled and colonies began to expand, they knew little about each other and their advancing development. Finally, little by little, the individual colonies found each other and began to set up trade routes to link their systems for commerce and solidarity. Today, with each colony firmly rooted in its respective corner of the galaxy, the colonies rely heavily on each other for trade and industry but also compete for resources and new territories in the Border Worlds. The colonies mandate member governments in "The New Alliance" within the Sirius sector. To control conflicts, each colony has forged alliances and treaties with others as they have grown. Competition remains fierce, however. Struggles rage for supremacy in business, commerce, resources, power and control. There can be tenuous peace between colonies' political agendas, but the grabs for holdings constantly unsettle the volatile frontier.
