I've done a playthrough of this game on my YT channel on the hardest difficulty. I've played this game countless times and would really like to see it on modern systems with a widescreen fix. I have a physical copy of this game but neither that nor the Abandonware copy works on Win 10 anymore. Hope it'll come to GOG in the near future.
When i got this game at its initial release, i was really pleasantly surprised: it was an hybrid game of RTS but not just that...
The whole concept was simple (capture key points on the battlefield) with whatever tools your character had at their disposal... but then, each map was also a giant puzzle on its own, because you had to figure out the best ways to conquer the key points despite cleverly deployed opposition and conditions.
Just add to that the fantastic soundtrack composed for this gam by AfroCelt Sound System band, and i was so immersed in my little battles for hours: trying out strategies, failing and learning from my failures, grasping whatever better strategies to use, watch all of my cute summoned creatures do their stuff.
I had so much fun for countless hours in early 2k's... I suppose what causes problem to get this gem on GOG would be the soundtrack licensing ? Otherwise it sure is not a hugely popular or well known title, more of a hidden gem in fact... But a good old game deserves to be protected and to become part of gaming legacy for the future...

Kingdom Hearts Birth by SleepBirth by Sleep is an action roleplaying game that introduces a gameplay aspect called the Command System, which allows players to customize a Command Deck with techniques and abilities that they can perform at will, called Deck Commands. Performing ordinary attacks and Commands fills a gauge displayed above the command deck that, when certain requirements are fulfilled, activates a Command Style that changes the player's basic attack command with the "Surge" command, which racks up powerful combos depending on what Command Style is activated. Kingdom HeartsKingdom Hearts brings back the gameplay elements featured in the original Kingdom Hearts, though it was developed exclusively for V Cast, Verizon Wireless's broadband services. Sora moves similar to a tank, with one button on the control pad moving him forward, another moving him backwards, and two more turning him left or right. Even with these new controls, Sora can still perform a number of moves aside from running and jumping. He can climb trees and ladders, grasp the edges of platforms and pull himself up, lift and throw objects, and use the Keyblade to slide down zip lines.
Sora can still use the Keyblade and also magic, the first spell he learns being Blizzard, to fight like in Kingdom Hearts. Munny and Experience are still earned by defeating Heartless. As opposed to Kingdom Hearts, however, Kingdom Hearts introduced "assistant characters," such as the Caterpillar and Swordman Parrot, as opposed to guest party members.Action
