The Infinity Blade series is absolutely amazing. It's like a serious Medieval version of Punch-Out with RPG and Rogue-Lite gameplay. It's an absolute tragedy that this work of art is completely dead software.

One of those games epic forgot about, fun simple gameplay. Went to look for it after a few years just to see that us was no longer available on the App Store, really wish I could play it again without having to download an APK.

I had a weird obsession with playing these games, even though I never had my own Apple product to play them when they were still officially available. They just seemed really cool and novel for mobile games at a time when smartphones were still ramping up to ubiquity. Now, they're relics of a time when mobile gaming was finding its footing and there was still hope of it becoming a platform for "premium" games, even if that's not quite how the market shook out. I did finally play IB1 in the past couple years after figuring out how to get it working on my wife's old iPad 2. But I'd prefer having an easier way to play it and the rest of the saga on my regular devices.

Infinity Blade was groundbreaking on iOS, and it’s easy to see why it might be the best game you’ve played. Let me lay it out: 1. Console-Quality Graphics: When it dropped, Infinity Blade looked stunning. Epic Games and Chair Entertainment pushed Unreal Engine to deliver visuals that rivaled console games of the time, all on a mobile device. The environments, character models, and effects were jaw-dropping for iOS. 2. Intuitive Gameplay: Its swipe-based combat was revolutionary. Instead of traditional on-screen buttons, you used swipes and taps to attack, parry, and dodge. It felt fresh and perfectly designed for touchscreens. 3. Addictive RPG Elements: The loot system, leveling up, and collecting better weapons and gear gave it insane replay value. Each bloodline reset made you stronger, rewarding perseverance. 4. Immersive Worldbuilding: The mysterious story and the haunting setting were captivating. You were pulled into a world of ancient castles, immortal kings, and epic battles, even with limited dialogue. 5. Short, Engaging Loops: It was perfect for mobile gaming. You could play in short bursts, defeat a few enemies, or take down a boss, making it an ideal pick-up-and-play experience. 6. Constant Innovation: With each sequel, the game got deeper and more expansive without losing what made it special. Multiplayer battles, new worlds, and richer lore kept it fresh. It wasn’t just a game; it felt like a defining moment for mobile gaming, proving that mobile could handle high-quality, satisfying experiences. That nostalgic blend of simplicity and depth still holds up for anyone who loved it back then.

Possibly the only mobile game saga I have ever played all the way through multiple times. We gotta bring this back, the gameplay was innovative for the time and today could be crazy.

This game and it's sequels we're my childhood. They got me interested in storytelling and lore, on top of having revolutionary gameplay for the time. I'm not sure how to translate it to PC or Console, but the recent fan PC port of IB 1 made it feasible.

Some of the best mobile games ever made, it truly was the golden era, we just didn't realise it. Great story, gameplay, visuals, and replayability. There's currently no official way to play unless you've still got the games installed on an old Apple device that hasn't been updated in years, please make this happen.

If only they published to Kinect instead of scrapping that plan to go for Apple, there still might be a way to play Infinity Blade on physical media, be it one a 360 or Xbox One. Maybe they can bring it to VR.
