a flight simulator that served as a giant commercial for the new fighter, featuring an actual commercial for the new fighter (it's a cut scene where the jet is placed on a platform like it's at some sort of expo. some spot lights shine on it and an announcer reads off its stats and specs--"Lockheed-Martin, Boeing, and Pratt & Whitney, proudly present the F-22 Raptor: Air Dominance Fighter!"). the score was probably the best part of the game, doing its best to sound sound cinematic with only about three or four midi voices, and only two or three tracks max for the whole game. had a really hard time completing the missions but using a joystick on that game felt really cool. i basically used amrams on everything, the sidewinders and guns never worked, added jdams even when there weren't ground targets, tried using chaffs but i got shot down all the time regardless. idk, dcs will probably give you a more authentic experience, but if you don't have 1tb of disk space and want something a little more simplified, i think it might be worth it to revisit this with some qol updates. bump up the resolution, provide widescreen support, allow custom key binding and controller support--could be neat.
Those games also need your vote!

SimCity: Limited Edition
SimCity: Limited EditionSimCity is a city-building and urban planning simulation video game developed by Maxis, a subsidiary of Electronic Arts. Released for Microsoft Windows in early March 2013, it's the first major installment in the SimCity series since the release of SimCity 4 a decade prior. An OS X version is scheduled for release during Q1/Q2 2013. The game is considered to be a reboot of the SimCity series.Players can create a settlement that can grow into a city by zoning land for commercial, industrial, or residential development, as well as building and maintaining public services, transport and utilities. SimCity utilizes a new engine called GlassBox, allowing for more detailed simulation than previous games. Throughout its development, SimCity received critical acclaim for its new engine and reimagined gameplay; however, publications cautioned the game's use of a persistent internet connection, with which it stores saved games and allows players to share resources.

SimCity Creator
SimCity CreatorSimCity Creator follows the basic SimCity formula that sees players managing a city and placing residential, commercial, and industrial zones for buildings in addition to facilities such as police stations, hospitals, seaports, and stadiums. Players are also able to customize the look of their buildings by choosing from several themes for the city such as Egyptian, Roman, Japanese, European, Las Vegas, and near-future styles, in addition to ones that result in a crystal or confectionery-like appearance to buildings. Players are also able to tour their city, rendered in 3D graphics, in a helicopter or airplane. If the player builds an airport, more touring vehicles can be unlocked.

SimEarth: The Living Planet
SimEarth: The Living PlanetSimEarth is a planet simulator - a model of a planet. It is a game, an educational toy, and an enjoyable tool. With SimEarth you can take over many included planets, or design and create your own. SimEarth treats the planet as a whole: life climate the atmosphere, and the planet itself - from dirt and rock to the molton core - all affect on each other. You will see your planet as a whole - from a satellite's point of view, at two levels of magnification. SimEarth can be played in two modes: game and experimental. In game mode, you will try to develop, manage, and preserve your planet within allotted energy budgets. In experimental mode, you are given enlimited energy to mold your planet. This allows you to set up any stage of development, and then introduce any new factors you want and see what happens. In this mode SimEarth is a "planetary spreadsheet." Your SimEarth planets will be poulates by electronic life-forms called SimEarthlings. Sim Earthlings range from single-celled plants and animals to intellegent species. Intellegent Simearthlings are not limited to Humans - or even Mammals. There can be intellegent Dinosaur SimEarthlings, intellegent Mollusk SimEarthlings, even intellegent Insects SimEarthlings - but only one intellegent life-form at a time. A single planet can be populated by billions of SimEarthling. Their welfare is in your hands.
