Its started with Revenant.

Than we get the expected Shadowrun Hong Kong and Pillers Expansion.

Grandia II Remastered was unexpected.

And the 2 big ones. The D&D SSI Gold Box games and Bethesda finally giving us back Fallout while also giving us the old school Elder Scrolls games.

Could it possibly get better from here? Can I tempt fate? I will pray to the GOG gods and hope my wishes come true.

"OH GOG gods will we get Vampires the Masquerade Bloodlines on GOG next week at last completeing the Troika collection?"

Yes. Not sure about the RPG part, but it can and will get better.

I'm still waiting for Ubisoft to release Rainbow Six 3 here :P

It will only get even more better if by some stroke of luck GOG manages to get Blizzard games pre WOW on GOG :D

Starcraft+Brood War
Diablo 1 and 2+Lords of Destruction
And the Warcraft Trilogy

(But than again Battle.net is still used for Diablo 2, Warcraft 3, and Starcraft 1)
You forgot about Albion, that was even before Revenant, and even more spectacular.

EDIT: Oh, I overlooked the "month" and Albion was last month, sorry. This just goes to show though that it's quite arbitrary to only look at August as a "month of RPG surprises".

So what? UPLAY is used for the online multiplayer of the GOG versions of Far Cry 1+2.

I understand Far Cry 2 (It came out a year before Assassin's Creed 2 where Uplay DRM became more noticeable)

I did not know Far Cry 1 used Uplay.

But hey if thats the case than is still the chacne we might get Blizzard games pre WOW :D

Sorry, I've no clue about that.
Having ZeniMax games on GOG can only add further commercial viability to GOG, which will hopefully translate into us getting even more games in the future. I don't know how popular older games are on Steam but on GOG there's already a given market for them. If they don't sell well on Steam they should bring them here.
But yeah its been a great summer for RPGs, I'm kicking myself for not buying more of the Might & Magic games during the sale, I've enjoyed the ones I bought much more than expected.

Don't forget Anno 1404 + Venice, Anno 2070 and the latest Anno game of the series that takes place in space.

Back on the RPG topic, we are still missing the first 5 Wizardry games.
agreed! Now if gog could get the classic xcom games (ufo defense, Terror From the Deep, Apocalypse, and Interceptor) here from 2k they'd have every thing I wanted when I first joined this site all those years ago.

as to system shock 1 that is in ownership rights hell. The now long dead looking glass software, and ea each owned half the game (one owned the trade mark the other the copyright) and one needs both parts for ANY re-issuance or remake of the original or equal to be made.

Yes, but we at least have Elminage Gothic.

Also, some say that the Dragonlance games are coming.

For me, that would blow away everything they churned out this month. A DRM-free working version of Bloodlines that ran on my 64-bit machine? NFW!
