CymTyr: No, I'm pretty sure I heard they were selling a lot of old games with the GOG executables. I don't know if that's true or not. There were multiple threads about it on here many years ago.
EDIT: But if you think I just make shit up just to make it up, keep on keeping on.
Pheace: There's probably a whole history of threads talking about this back in the day ready to find if GOG ever had something resembling a working search engine.
After a while games that were 'fixed' by GOG did indeed start leaking to the other platforms as well. This makes perfect sense. They are still the publisher/devs game after all. At best doing so might have given GOG a temporary period of exclusivity but it's not likely a publisher/dev was going to agree to only sell that version on GOG from that point on. The publishers have no reason not to use those fixes at other stores as well.
Thanks, Pheace. Kind of tired of people implying I'm full of shit around here.
topolla: I don't know details but I heard that GOG gives the effect of their work to publisher/developer without any restrictions. Sometimes it was a part of negotiations of game release on GOG, sometimes something else cause it.
That is the way how "working" games are published on steam.
That was my recollection, as well. Thanks.
