Alpha Protocol was a big one for me.

GOG does need to step up a bit as most game releases have been at best average, no offence to the people who made the games but many have little to no fan fair and are off the main page inside of a day or two.
GOG definitely needs another contract on the level of the one with SEGA, but they must aim for even bigger and more important games, or they will continue to barely survive. For example, SEGA hasn't dropped any Total War games, Sonic or Persona, which are the most famous brands in its portfolio.

I would like to see an end to this kind of inferiority complex that plagues GOG and even its users who feel that we can never have certain titles.
Well, going by the list below:
most of these are absolutely uninteresting for me.
Of the majority of these titles, I haven't even heard the names, prior to their release here.
(The very "old ones" and the very "well-knowns" excluded, of course.)
And even of those, only a few are really interesting for me.
Of these 237 titles, maybe a dozen (two dozen at most) are tempting enough to consider a purchase.

All that being said: I'm satisfied with that number of (interesting for me) releases.
At some point, one hast to play all that stuff after all - not just amass it.
And with that in mind, these releases are more than enough to "satisfy my needs".

Wow. Nice job with the lists, thank you!
Really interesting to read it compiled like this.
To be honest, ever since they changed the design of the website years ago and made you scroll all the way to the bottom of the page to see anything that's new, I've stopped paying attention. I had a pretty good idea about what is on GOG and what was added recently back then, but not anymore. Sometimes I accidentally discover games on GOG that I have never heard of and I didn't even know they were in the GOG catalogue. But that's a very rare occurrence. I do notice when the forum makes a big fuss about certain bigger releases, but most of the other ones go by unnoticed by me these days.

I'm interested in Alpha Protocol and RoboCop, and I think I'll get them at some point. I don't really know about most of the others, maybe there are some hidden gems (Jusant?), but I won't buy them for sure without an heavy discount.

I'd also love to play a game in the Stargate universe, but the reviews of Stargate: Timekeepers are not encouraging.
I guess no, not really, most weeks are completely dead with nothing of interest to me

If you don't like the usual monthly standout (Eiyuden, GoW, Alpha Protocol, Robocop, Sinking City) it gets pretty dull, I wish GOG would go after more games to fill in those gaps
Last purchase in January, so that probably puts me in the no camp.

Problem being that I already own most of what I'd be interested in and the chances of me being interested in a new release are abysmally low. So unless I feel experimental, the only other chance is GOG scoring some high demand oldies.

I have a hard time believing GOG isn't trying, I can't help but keep thinking that (besides DRM of course), AAA's just don't want to bother with GOG for the tiny amount of money to be made here (it's weird that they bothered with GOG when GOG was even smaller, years back), but hopefully minimum guarantees will help.

Robocop! That's another great, fairly-recent release I already forgot about.

Yes. Except not having Horizon Forbidden West is PAINFUL.

tfishell: Have you been pretty satisfied with recent releases on GOG?
Nope, not in the least bit.

As always, GOG continues to release only a tiny handful of premium quality games per year.

And of those few games, many of them have problems that make them not worth buying, like spyware in the Sony games, different version numbers on the GOG versions of some premium Bethesda games which massively diminishes mod compatibility, and SEGA games like Yakuza have that same problem too...in addition also to having problems like having a minigame and its related rewards randomly removed out of the GOG version from the third latest entry in the series for no sensible reason at all, and the latest two entries in the series are not even on GOG at all, and hallmark games like Dark Souls, Elden Ring, Red Dead Redemption 2, GTA 5, etc. are probably never coming to GOG, and quality games from AA devs also started no longer to appear on GOG, like Dungeons 4 which is missing even though the previous two entries in the series are here, etc. etc.

TL;DR: GOG's catalog leaves much to be desired, and makes GOG-exclusive gaming not a viable option, unless one is content forever to miss out on experiencing (and/or experience lesser versions of) some of the best games that will have been released during their lifetime.

Which is why I mostly follow the news by checking blue forum threads, or the classic website.

Not as painful as paying money for Zero Dawn.

Anyway, there haveb een some good releases like Alpha Protocol, I'm very glad we got The Expanse here, there's stuff I'm looking orward to a lot, like Steamworld Heist 2, but overall for a good while the vast majorty of releases are either utter garbage or stuff that just doesn't interest me at all. I guess it's not a big problem, I've still got over 130 titles on my wishlist, so even if nothing at all would be added to it I'd still have years worth of shopping to do, but it does feel disappointing a bit to see the place drift away from my tastes so much.

Well.. I haven't bought anything since december.

That doesn't necessarily mean the releases are disappointing, maybe I've just started to get more and more picky about what I buy or how much I'm willing to spend. Unfortunately I feel like I also don't have the time/energy to keep up with new releases and it doesn't help that gog doesn't offer a simple way to track them.

Looks like I've wishlisted about 11 titles this year.

Yes, it'd be nice if GOG actually bothered to do monthly roundups so we could see the actual releases quantified instead of vaguely guessing what's new.
