Star Crusader
i loved this game as a child! i even bought it on ebay recently in the 6 disk edition in my mothertongue to play it on an old p1. but disk 1 and disk 6 are faulty :( pleeeeeeeeeease.
It took me ages to find the name of this and another game (Ironblood) just so I could see if these gems were available on GoG. Very hard to find when all I had to go off of was "CD Power" (which just returns hardware) and "the Goreen flag WILL fly". But I did it! Sad that they're not here but I'm not surprised. I only had the good fortune to play the game via a copy of CD Power that my dad just picked up as an impulse buy when I was a child. Came with some futuristic bike game that I could never get running. Should probably see if I can find anything on that.
As a child I played everything from Descent & Hellbender to Wing Commander but, for whatever reason, this dumb little game became my favorite until the day I lost the CD.
Oh no! How are there so few wishes for this?? It is an excellent game with a deep story line, surprisingly good voice acting, different ships, different mission types, the ability to capture ships, use alien ships and... no spoilers... a huge decision to be made half-way through the game where the story plot and game play undergoes an important watershed. It would be an auto-buy from me. Wish I still had that CD-Rom somewhere... GOG please get this title!
One of my favorite games. The strategies it had in late game, like chooseing what sector to send in secondary missions, stealing enemy ships, choosing a wingman, and training up the skills of a other pilots, I really wish they had all that in other open ended space shooters like freelancer. That would have been awsome. Would love to play it agian, and like most, I never got the expansion pack but would love to give that a go too.
A very good game! In somewhat points, its even better than Wing Commander or TIE Fighter.
A revolutionary game, though sadly overlooked by many. While Descent was still trying to find its way out of the caves into free space, Star Crusader was pushing the boundaries of space sims even beyond the Wing Commander series. I could also make an argument that this game had some influence on EVE Online.
I'm not generally one to wallow in nostalgia, but I'd like to boot this one up and take it around the block again.
My first ever game. I loved it. Only ever completed one of the multiple endings. I really want to play it again!!!
From choosing your wingmen and developing their skills, the choosing your ship(in most all missions) and it's loadout, to even choosing your side in the war, I loved the control in this game. And the space fighting(especially disabling and capturing enemy ships) was always fun with varied missions.
Some of the cool features of this space combat sim that stand out in my mind: 1) You could capture enemy alien ships and then use them or assign them to other pilots. 2) There were spying/recon missions in addition to battles. 3) You had an option to revolt and join the alien forces. RAD.
Including Wing Commander: Armada to catalogue reminded me of this game. IIRC this had absolutely wonderful strategic options.
This was one of the first games on the PC I ever played and I loved it.
I remember playing the hell out of the demo of this way back in the day. It took away a lot of hours that I should have spent writing chemistry reports. The demo alone was good for a lot of hours of gameplay. I would love to see this on GOG someday.
Looks very cool, would love this here

Actually a good spaceshooter with good voice acting.www.youtube.com/watch?v=ids1ihttauENice gimmick was that you could steal enemy ships and use them for yourself. I never got hands of the missionpack though, I hope if it ever makes it to GOG it will be included.
