It was hands down my favourite game for the Amiga back in the early 90s, and I'd love to be able to play it again :)
SteamGog I watched the YouTube video and it seems if one leaves the map setting where its at, it is totally sufficient and played the game and captured a couple of territories. Definitly going back to Populous 2 (the Greek themed one), as it just seems less FUN and one has to keep clicking to check information on how much food and weapons are in the villages as well as one's own status. I may play more to see if opinion changes...
SteamGog I bought POWERMONGER when it came out for the Macintosh and recently got Populous 2 again and played that. A very good game then and now. Was curious about Powermonger again and tried it again.
I now remember why I did not like that game, the close up MAP, trying to get a view and continue to see what is going on UGH, just cannot get past the interface on it
Not at all an F7 like Populous for a bigger better view of the map and frequently I'm seeing underneath the map or something, that primitive 3d is not working. If they would have kept the map view like POPULOUS, it would have been fine, but I at this time playing Powermonger is too difficult, in my view from the interface alone.

buttejm I Spent so much time playing this on Amiga (I think) along with the first Settlers it is definitely my favourite game, I spent hr upon hr trying to move down that map, the whole feeling of the game was tense and it had for me a great but hard progression. always wanted to complete it but never could! would love to go back and try again. Will never use the abandonware as I feel people need paying for a great experience.

Hawkez Powermonger was one of the first games I purchased on my Amiga back in the day. Very innovative and fun game. Surprisingly enough Peter Molyneux always lists this game as his biggest disappointment. I have no idea why (maybe it didn't sell, although it was ported to consoles even.) I loved going to a new village, buying all the weapons they had, then killing them with same. :)

Anto9k Fantastic old game! My Sega mega drive version never came with a manual, so never figured out how to make anything except pikes and boats, always ran out of food and i would constantly find myself getting annoyed at the one stubborn villager left who for some reason wouldn't join my ranks. The game still made me feel like a military genius!

This is one of my childhood gems. Extremely obscure, hard to master, intricate levels of interaction and simulation. I never could manage to get beyond 10 or so levels, but the level of simulation in the game won my heart 100x more than populace or any game that came since.
Tarm Making weapons and then going of eating livestocks on your way to peppering your neighbour with arrows is fun!
This is one of the obscure old titles that GOG can profit on. Get the rights to sell it, make it work on modern systems and then advertise a lot. Many of us old timers have heard of. Few have probably played it but their curiosity will get the best of the. It will sell good initially, drop a bit and then get a steady sale I think.
So go get it for us GOG!
