Inner Worlds
Studio Fizbis' "The Inner World" has been added to Steam.
Sleepless Software's "Inner Worlds" has not been added to Steam or GOG
GOG missed out, the files are available now: drive.google.com/open?id=15tmBEOEPAqHZ1i5vmYlkfxBjjO0IlxKR
But there are bugs, discussed here: github.com/TambourineReindeer/open-iw/issues/1
And this set of files for QEMU is a 100% reliable way to run the native files on many platforms: drive.google.com/open?id=1aUgZOCQ-iL1pD7cyxJv1mYCfzTQL_hgF
It looks like the original developers have made it available on Steam as of May 15, 2020. (And, according to Steam user reviews, the Steam version of the game is actually the DOS version running in DOSBox.)
Very interesting game. A lot of people don't even know about it - and mistake the title with The Inner World...
Error on my part: It's not completed - it just has almost the same name as the award-winning game "The Inner World", which inexplicitly lacks a Wikipedia article. F* my life...
Completed back in 2013, it seems: www.gog.com/game/the_inner_world
The creator of this game said that copies were pretty easy to find online, but the problem there is anybody could make a questionable executable and ruin someone's day. GOG would not only be preserving an interesting game but would be protecting random folks from stumbling onto some malware. Just sayin'.
Oh man, I loved this game back in the day. It'd be great to see it on GoG.
Yes please!
Inner Worlds by Sleepless Software 1996 (Linux/DOS/Windows)
It is only fitting that GOG have the first ever store-shelf Linux game in its Linux rollout. It is historical for many reasons. It was also developed on Linux. Yup, 1996 a commercial game developed for DOS and Windows on Linux. Sleepless Software published a statement that game can be freely distributed and gave the game away on their website for many years. Seems like they'd be willing to allow it on GOG. www.uvlist.net/game-80673-Inner+Worlds sleepless.com/ archive.org/details/InnerWorlds_1020
I agree. I played this to death but I could never defeat the final boss! That and the soundtrack was ace
