I would love to buy a copy of the classic version. Especially since the abandonware sites pulled their copies down. However.. I'm not willing to spend $35.00 on an over-bloated version I can't use to get a 20 year old game! Could you _PLEASE_ list the classic version separately??

23-down Ah love these games over the past few years I replayed em over and over and over.. If there are any chances they should definitely get added here.
I possibly wont need em as I still got em on CD and they still run on modern OS even the only advantage here would be that they're DRM free.
Otherwise the classics might very well be played in Steam and per fan effort even lan gaming has been re-enabled. The only real game which would make sense is Homeworld Catacylsm as you can't get that anymore anywhere. It still runs on modern OS with some hacked game.exe files fans came up with over the years so it shouldn't be hard for GoG to replicate that.

Lotus_Cocktail Oh gosh. I think I would go back on my words, since I now know that a lot of mechanics from the originals were broken up in the Remastered Edition, and it doesn't include Cataclysm. Maybe It would be nice if gog can sell the original versions seperately..or just the originals. Plus, please include Cataclysm, plz!

Mr. D™ I don`t give a fuck about Homeworld Remastered. And the original Homeworld is one of my top 5 games of all times. Like X-Com its a graphic upgrade and a game mechanics downgrade. It`s the CODization of computergames :-/ Fuck it
alexsuharev I vote for the originals of Homeworld and Cataclysm. Of course you can have original HW if you buy Remastered Edition, but I don't want to indulge the people responsible for this awful remake to have even slightest idea that their "effort" was appreciated with my money.

Elideb I think the game is tied to Steam because of the online. Once Galaxy is out, with its, supposedly, multiplayer compatibility with Steam, we might get these games here. But yeah, I just want the classic version, even if the remaster is prettier.

Given that the files required a decrypter, I can't guarantee I'll buy it, but I'll vote and, if it shows up in a form that still has a matching decrypter I can burn to DVD+R alongside it, I'll buy then.

ssokolow I generally buy remastered versions so I can use fan-made scripts to extract original version data usable with open-source engines. (eg. You can do that with Monkey Island Special Edition)
In the mean time, I'll probably wait for my wallet to recover from the insomnia promo and then pick up a used Homeworld CD for $15-25.

Which lead also to result that GBX removed the MP from the classic versions.... *sigh* let's hope at least www.homeworldsdl.org/ will fix this
herecomethe2000 Not the mechanics of hw2, the HW2 engine itself. They tried hard to maintain the hw1 mechanics when the porting the game to the new engine. Is it perfect? No. But to say that it's HW2 with with a HW1 style campaign is disingenuous.
Kaffeine Nicotine I think it is worth noting that while the reviews of Homeworld Remastered are postive, the gameplay mechanics of the first game have been replaced with that of the second. In my opinion the first game was superior to the second in every way except graphical quality so the remaster may not be worth buying(while the original definitely is), that said I would like to see them on GOG.com.
