Marscaleb I would take it just as a digital copy of the Vista version. Sure it would be nice if they tweaked a few things, but I would get this game just as it was originally released for the PC, if it were an option.

You guys could work with the Project Cartographer team to bring online multiplayer, just a thought.
But campaign alone, I'd definitely buy this on my favorite place to be.

Vengeance208 Hey guys, as far as I'm aware Halo 2 is an Xbox exclusive (it will never come to PC / Steam let alone GOG). The only Halo I know of on PC is Halo: Combat Evolved (the first one).

KnightW0lf This first Halo CE was on PC as well and i believe Halo 2 was as well because the Halo CE had 3-4 extra maps that was not in the xbox version

Lingondraken A great fun game with a good campaign. The GFWL is absolutely terrible though. If it went on GOG it would be an instant purchase.

guccihoez ah my favorite game in the series..would be fantastic to have this for a digital download, but im not sure if any of us would be able to play online, last i checked all of the codes for multiplayer are taken or banned or something, cant remember, but the actual story mode of this is definitely worthy of a purchase, gotta remove the GFWL though, no doubt.

shadowfacex The problem with getting Halo 2 on GOG, is that it was only made for Xbox, and Xbox alone. The was never a PC version, like with original Halo.
Wet Dog Squad It would great to be able to play this without GFWL. Halo 2 was my favorite game for years...
FlamingFirewire Would love to be able to play the best Halo game on PC. While I never got around to playing the PC version when I had VIsta, I would never go back to using that crappy OS. Hope that one day this happens on GOG.
StarSword @unlimitedstudios: There's not a damn thing in the game that requires Vista, just an if statement in the installer that refuses to let the game install unless you're running Vista. Incidentally, that also means it won't install on Windows 7.
DRM_free_fan Further to previous post - I have played the entire game on XP using one of these patches - I only found 2 drawbacks. One particular level had to have a work around (googled the level name and found the solution) and the other drawback was that I couldn't see the staff names at the credits (music only) still everything else worked fine!
DRM_free_fan @ Ampistie & unlimitedstudios - It IS playable on Windows XP. Just not officially. Google "Halo 2 XP". I think you will find there are multiple fan patches out there.

unlimitedstudios Agreed! GoG should add Halo 2, make it more user friendly across all or if not most OS's & add the usual GoG Premium deal. This may constitute a revisit by 343i &/or Gearbox with GoG. Only problem is this was made with Windows "Vista" in mind, oh- the coder's horror of dealing with such a sluggish nightmare. I do hope this makes it someday soon to GoG though. ;]
