Fire Fight
Played this back in the day quite a bit and yeah-- it's awesome! Would love to get it now from GOG
+1 on this epic title
Hell yes, I would love to see this on GOG. I play ed the absolute snot out of the demo I got on a PC GAMER mag back in 1996-1997 - played like a dream on my Pentium 100 and Matrix Millenium graphics "Accelerator" LOLS - bring it back GOG - just taker my left kidney :D
Yes please!
Lets Go!
I desperately want FireFight by Chaos Works on GOG! Also SWIV3D!!! GOG ples! pretty ples!
Would love to play this game again.
Please release Fire Fight. Great game and a lot of great memories.
It took me a few years to remember the name of the game. I only ever had the demo but still remember it being a blast. Would love a chance to play it again.
Let's go GOG!
No matter what I do I can't seem to run this game on windows 10
Please GOG show us the light!
I want Fire Fight, I dream about playing this again. Janusz Pelc and his amazing team in Chaos Works did a fantastic job back then. I think this game has a lot of potential even these days. There was a fantastic sound and music, all made under wings of sound designer mr Whittaker. We want Fire Fight!
Same here, this HAS to come over here. Whoever knows it, will instantly buy it because of gameplay and nostalgia. Both are superb!
would love this. I love the music and get the urge to play it. I've only ever played the shareware and would love to play the full game
I just remembered this game today. I'll have a crack at getting it running too and let you know if I have any success.
So, I just spent a couple hours trying to get this working on my Win10 laptop, and I've got a way to do it - kind of.
Have your full-version CD ready, download these files, and follow instructions included with the files. Everything you need (besides the game itself) is there at the mega link. mega.nz/#F!BIA2QQiR!6yVtGCijocxsYGUSxKY3AQ
If this works for you, please consider going here and giving the developer of dgVoodoo a donation. www.dege.freeweb.hu/
Here's where I found the NO-CD patch with thread ID bugfix: simonscodes.blogspot.com/2011/06/getting-firefight-to-work-on-win7.html
NOTE: The (necessary) no-cd patch gets flagged by a few antivirus packages as various types of Bad Thing™, and I did not make it myself, but I have tried it and it works with no ill effects on my system. VirusTotal detects something with 17 of 56 antivirus engines. Use your judgement. NO-CD patches often get flagged as false positives, but that doesn't mean there aren't any no-cd patches out there that contain viruses either.
Further info for the curious: Designed for Windows 95, Fire Fight tries to run in a video mode that DirectDraw drivers of today no longer support, and dumps out with an error. You can use the loader to disable DirectDraw, but then the game runs centered and tiny if it runs at all; the 1.2 patch seems to help with stability but the video mode used is still obsolete. There's also apparently a bug in the unpatched game that will crash it out too without the 1.2 patch. The game normally runs off of the CD with both settings data *and* save data stored in the windows registry; if you install the 1.2 update as provided by the publisher (which uses a 16-bit installer which won't run on 64-bit windows) that sits in Program Files with a registry key pointing the on-cd loader to the patch files on the harddrive but all other files still load off the cd ignoring anything else unexpected in the patch folder... which means that to shim DDraw.dll and get around that crash you either need a nocd patch and copy the files from the disc, or you need to edit your *disc* to include the DDraw workaround which is less feasible for the average person and brings up issues of piracy if I try to share an edited disc containing the entire full game, obviously. So this was the compromise I came to. I installed the 1.2 patch in a vm, copied the files out, and bundled them along with the bugfix'd no-cd patch and dgVoodoo.
Theoretically, you should be able to play the 1.2 shareware version with just dgVoodoo, but the shareware uses a 16-bit installer too, which means using a VM to install it for most people and at that point, just run the game in the VM.
I have only played the demo about 22 years ago, but I still remember it, and its still awesome. Would love this game.
miss playing dos FireFight was a game of greatness
YESSSS!!!!
Please?
Yes, yes, yes a thousand times YES.
"Did somebody paint "Taxi" on my nine-nine?"
Yes please. This is one of those special games from my childhood that I played in 1997
I remember how cool the shareware version of Fire Fight was. I never saw it on store shelves, but I would buy it immediately if it were for sale here!
I've still got my original retail CD. Just wish I could figure out how to get it running on Windows 10, heh.
It's been five years since my first comment here, and we still don't have the game. So sad (I'm not saying it's GOG's fault). I really want to play it, I don't care how much it would cost me, please give it to us, GOG gods.
I have the demonstration version on an old Windows 95 games sampler CD-ROM, such an awesome game, I haven't played it since probably 2004, I'm pretty sure i got it working on my old Acer PC with Windows XP on it, but I've not played it in ages and ages. If GOG sold this game, they'd get even more praise from me than they already do, and they get lots of praise from me as it is.
The GOG support said that this could be complicated because the game have started as shareware, but asked me to "vote as hell" here.
So... VOTE, PEOPLE! VOTE!
Always wanted to play the full version of this
Brings a tear to my eye to remember this game. Yes, please.
The idea of playing this game pops up once in a while, and now since there's GOG, why not vouch for it?
Awesome arcade game, loved the music and voice-over accents
One underrated epic little gem. Strong background feeling for an arcade game, amazing controls and playability for the time (even for today standards) Must definitely enter the Gog library to never leave it
Great game. I'd really like to see it available on gog!
This was a really fun game to play as a kid, with kick-ass background music. I'd really like to see it here.
"Electronic Arts. Epic Megagames. Chaos Works. Fire Fight."
There's a shareware version on my old Gravis gamepad CD-ROM, but it doesn't run. I've always wanted to play the full game!
I've read about it, apparently it's one of the better, more under-appreciated Polish games. Worth adding to the catalog.
Definite buy when it comes here. I've being searching for this game for years not knowing its title.
It's from Epig Games and we already have four titles from them, shouldn't be a big problem to get the rights.
I have it on CD and it's awesome.
Here's hoping GOG braves the depths of the Cave of Wonders and returns with this gem of a game.
Suddenly this just popped on my mind, so I had to vote. A great childhood game.
This was a great shoot-em-up that never got the attention it deserved. I'd definitely buy it.
One of my favorite games ever. I'd give anything to play it again.
Come on gog, please!
One of my childhood favorites, great game.
lol this is one of the few games I would really beg for to be added on GOG.
Will definitely buy if this is added
I've been searching for this game for years and I couldn't find a digital or boxed version. Please add it to GOG
What a game! This really must be added to GOG.
