Enemy Infestation

@ArilouWyvern hello, were you able to get the floppy disk? I'd love to help bring the game back in my spare time. I used to play it so much as a kid.
ok sweet, that would be pretty cool if you can get it working
@sean54321 Same. The only thing that limits its replay value for me is that there are so few levels, which makes it extra devastating that the game wasn't successful enough to warrant more downloadable scenarios. The EISCEN1 text file billed it as "the first of a series," but when I tried going back to the website, a few months after downloading "Army of Darkness" in 2000, the site was already gone and with it my hope that more downloadable scenarios would be made available or there would be some sequel news.
Btw, I spoke to that relative who has my external floppy disk drive and we have plans to meet up in the next few weeks, so I should be able to upload "Army of Darkness" for you by the end of January. I'll message you on here when I've done so. For anyone else who might be interested: If you go to my profile and click "Invite to friends," I'll message you directly as well so you don't have to keep checking the comment section.
ah what a bummer, id still like to check it out though. really wish enemy infestation had been more popular with how solid of a game it is
@ sean54321 I have it. Removing my old PC's CD drive belt and cleaning it allowed me to briefly play it over the summer. Unfortunately, the belt became too loose again during my third playthrough of that scenario and no amount of further tweaking, cleaning, or boiling would make the drive go again, so before I can transfer the scenario to a modern PC I'll need to either buy a new belt or get my external floppy disk drive back from a relative. Unfortunately, work became all consuming shortly after that, but I'll make retrieving it for y'all a priority in the new year.
If you're interested, here's the mission briefing for that scenario: "Silence and darkness fill the space station Peace. No sign of colonist life can be found. Only a lone service robot is active, and it must be used to ascertain what happened on this base, and to rescue any colonists that it can."
Fair warning: If you were hoping "Army of Darkness" would offer more endgame content, you may find the scenario disappointing as it's actually a beginner level. (I don't always bother with it when I do a playthrough once every few years because I don't find it at all challenging.) Thinkers don't spawn, Hunters either also don't spawn at all or do so rarely (they showed up when I used gsaswap to manually command the aliens to grow but not during my regular playthrough), you're told exactly where to go to recover the most important unconscious crew member, you're given a clear path to that crew member, you're offered two easy ways to gain access to a locked area of the space station, and weapons are plentiful/easy to access. My suspicion is that it was created in response to criticism that the game's difficulty increased too quickly for new players.
However, there's some unique aspects that give it a bit of novelty. It has the only med bed outside of the tutorial with a limited number of uses and no military characters appear in this scenario. The latter may seem in conflict with my statement that it's not a challenging scenario, but there's a reason why their absence isn't a problem that I won't spoil unless asked to.
Is there a chance anyone found the army of darkness campaign yet?
@Drashka, Jalister, and Ryan001: I should still have the Army of Darkness campaign file. I downloaded it off their website at some point in 2000 and backed it up on a 3.5 floppy disk. It was a robot to the rescue mission set on the space station, as I recall. I'll go hunting for it over the summer and upload it somewhere when I find it, so if you see this check back in a couple of months.
Even if the disk has gone bad, it would be on my old 1990s PC, which I pulled out whenever I wanted to play Enemy Infestation up until the CD drive failed just a couple of years ago. I didn't feel like fixing it at the time, but maybe I'll do that while I'm looking for the campaign file.
This game is a classic, I would buy it instantly.
please
I emailed John De Margheriti. I'm going to try and get this off the ground again.
Feel free to follow the progress below. If you're a big fan of this game join the enemy infestation subreddit! Here: www.reddit.com/r/enemyinfestation/
correct link: www.microforte.com/capabilities/past_projects.php
Epic store is giving away another game from the same developer, Micro forte (https://www.microforte.com/capabilities/past_projects.php) which is from the same time, Fallout Tactics, can someone ask Epic to try to bring Enemy Infestation too? because after 10 years waiting for GOG I don't think it's going to happen and I'd be happy to pay to play this game again.
yeah sadly I wish there was some progress
Jeez, it's been A DECADE since I first commented on this thread...
Come on guys.. is this "Army of darkness" additional campaign real? Where is it? I wanna play it sooo bad. And Mr John_De_Margheriti please give us something.... This game is top notch hugely underrated.
why this game is not in gog
HOLY SH****T!!
I founded.
I love this game so much and as many of you I was wondering if someday it'll be a W10 version, after two days trying to run it on virtual machines I've found this one where the guy made a standalone installer that install a dosbox system with the game alredy installed.
just google for The Collection Chamber Enemy Infestation. Working 100% in w10-64bit
This is a great game and I would love to play it again. Thought it would have been available by now......GOG should go back to their roots instead of focusing on new releases.
Drashka - I wonder if that is your post over at reddit. You may want to check on it.

Game has an additional compaign "Army of darkness". I found information many years ago. And you can open game site from WebArchieve. And this file was by link in 99-2001 ftp://ftp.ripcordgames.com/ripcord/enemy/EISCEN1.exe
Sure link doesnt work, but i believe someone have it.
I remember this game. Only ever had a demo from pc gamer cd. thought it was great at the time. Would love to see a remastered / updated version.
I wish we had a good version for modern systems. What a shame that there were no continuation.
This game is fantastic!!! PLS GOG!!!
I miss it so much, please guys arrange something, dont let the developer word in vain.
This game is available on myabandonware. I found it while searching for a way to have it on my imac, done it with porting kit
i would love to play this game again i never had the chance to finish it as i was to young when i first played it so to be able to play it now would be amazing
Please. I played this so much as a child and it would be a complete joy to play it again. There is such a unique feeling when playing a game the brings back memories of joy as a child.

Me and a couple of friends decided to remake this masterpiece on hour free time. I will post here again once we have some news !
Absolutely fantastic - next to stuff like X-Com and Fallout 1/2 IMO. And I am NOT exaggerating at all!
i would love to see this playable on windows 10 as it was but if we got a remaster it would be even better
This would definitely be a must buy for me, as well. Very unique and enjoyable game.
Totaly in, especially after reading that message below from developer!
Fantastic top down RTS which was hugely under rated. I'd think the publisher would be very interested in launching on GoG.
A great and very underrated game. A gem among real-time tactics.
I used to play this game over and over when I was a child. Would love to be able to relive those fun times. Please get it on GOG!
Woah, guys, the game's producer just popped on to tell us he'd be down with putting the game up here. Come on, crowdsource or something and make it happen!!
Very obscure, yet very enjoyable game that I’d enjoy playing again.
Well that would be the one I would really like to see it here optimized for newer systems!
oh yes this is so great game. i hope they do it.
I am pleading to GOG developers to have Enemy Infestation available soon. I would love to buy this game and to have it running on windows 10. Thank you in advance!
This is one of my favorite games of all time. If it showed up on GOG, I'd definitely buy it right away. I've been thinking about how cool it would be to remake this game just this year.
This game was so good: gameplay, artwork and atmosphere were 10/10
I have always had a soft spot in my heart for this game. I have a CD of the original but I cannot get it to run past the 10-minute mark. (everyone dies) I would love to see this on GoG to hear the "Hoo Hee Haa I am Batista" again.
Hello All. I ran into these comments and thought I would add to the discussion. I'm John De Margheriti, producer on Enemy Infestation. The game was released by Panasonic's games division and the Producer at Panasonic was Grant Collier, who went onto creating Infinity Ward, the makers of Call of Duty. So a bit about EI. If the community is interested, I may be able to find source and other files for Enemy Infestation and perhaps it could be updated in some way. It was ahead of its time,, and was influenced by the "Awful Green Things from Outerspace" board game released by TSR in 1980. The project allowed the first aid.edu.au graduates to find work and in essence kick started the growth of the Australia video games industry as it led to the creation of the Australian Game Developers Conference and the Game Developers Association of Australia (GDAA). The profits made from this game were used to setup the not for profit AIE school that has helped thousands of graduates have a go and get a job in the games or related industries.
So getting back to Enemy Infestation. If there is interest by a quality group of coders and artists to update the game, I am happy to assist in bringing it up to some sort of spec. I don't frequent GOG boards and only ran into this thread by accident. So, I can be contacted at <a href="http://jdm@aie.edu.au" class="light_un" target="_blank">jdm@aie.edu.au</a> . If this is to come about, it needs a committed, talented group of people to come together on a part-time basis that want to make something of this opportunity. Maybe a German version can be developed ? Anyhow, its great that this game touched a bunch of people and that you enjoyed it. It was such a long time ago and its great to go back onto our early success games. It was not a huge seller but it did ok. We had a lot of fun making it, and it was the first game that came out of Canberra, Australia. It led to 2K establishing a studio there and many great games coming out of them. All this would not have happened if you had not bought this game so long ago... Thank you for the career it has given me.
John
Count me in as one who would love to see this game available on GOG!
The original developer has a website: www.microforte.com/contact/index.php
I should probably add I have the retail game CD, Manual and Box if GOG need scans for a release I'm happy to help. I don't have source files though.
Levels were made with 3D Studio Max. Modeled in 3d and rendered in one massive piece, so that's why there is no level editor. I worked on the Space Station level, was a lot of fun modeling things.
Would be nice if GOG would bring it back. The I believe the original developer is still around, or at least the game school they started AIE still is (Australia).
If they still have the source code and 3D models maybe a high res version would be possible?
