Duke Nukem Forever
Duke Nukem as a character and franchise doesn't get enough acknowledgment or respect these days and while DNF will never be a favorite amount most fans, it definitely deserves to be on GOG.com along with the rest of the games that were taken off almost a decade ago. This may never happen due to Gearbox's lack of passion and empathy for the franchise, especially since there has been no follow-up or any new original titles since DNF's release 13 years ago. Take-Two has recently acquired Gearbox, meaning that they now own Duke Nukem, and both companies don't really have much interested in supporting a platform that's DRM-Free unlike Apogee. I really want Duke Nukem Forever and the rest of the series here, but as long as Gearbox and Take-Two are in charge of this franchise, it's unlikely that will ever be the case unlike with classic DOOM and Wolfenstein. On a unrelated note if Duke ever comes back, he needs a lore master to lead his future, not some random meme influencer on the internet.
Good luck convincing the grease lord Randy and 2K to release anything without there trash launcher and a truck full of money for a game that was ok at best, you'd be better off playing the 3D realms version that popped up.
Would be awesome if this game was on GOG with MODDING capability added to it!
GOG Admins! Please! Talk to Randy Pitchford! Say that Duke Nukem Forever, and the previous games, are still in demand! Let him allow you to host them, and let us buy them from you!
GOG - in the words of badass - it's time to bring Duke back to the store and chew bubblegum... And I'm all out of patience for Gearbox's bickering. Or something like that. Point is - bring THE DUKE back!
He-hey, really want to see this underrated game at Gog store!
Love this game would love to see it on here
Duke Nukem Forever wasn't a great game and absolutely showed its age, but it was a good game and certainly worth the purchase...
In saying this, it's not going to happen - for once thing, the developer has basically abandoned the game - but I'd buy it if Duke Nukem Forever was made available on GOG.com, especially if it was made available for Linux-based operating systems or Apple macOS.
The game is not the best but it's not terrible either. In fact LGR himself actually enjoyed the game.
I'd buy a Mac version instantly-ish
no this game took 12 years and 4 different studios to finish and it poor and lackluster, 1. you can only carry 2 weapons unlike the good old 90's DN3D where u could have like 12 and the biggest crime of all is having the modern regen health, when duke was about exploring levels and getting new weapons there are better games that should get your upvotes than this like the original duke nukem 3d for one
still chewing gum and waiting 4 this game to be DRM-free.
GOOD DUKE.
PLEEESE TALL GEARBOX TO PLEESE PUT THIS GAME ON GOG.COM! BUT ASK NICELY !
I played the demo on X360 (got a code with Borderlands GotY) and, expecting the worse, actually had fun. Bought the game and the Doctor Who Cloned Me DLC and has a blast, got all achievements (SP only achievements btw) and found even the MP mode fun. Game got more hate it deserved. It's not perfect, but frankly it's a nice game to me. Weapons have a nice kick, enemies are fun to fight and there's even some strategy involved. I'd love to have it here, even if it's just the full SP experience with no MP.
Now that GOG's planning on taking off the current Duke games due to rights negotiations, maybe they can snag this along with the Duke games being taken off.
Also, please get the expansions for Duke3D as well. Then you'd have the complete PC Duke experience.
If Duke Nukum 1, 2 and 3-D are already here, then Forever should be as well. Especially if the DLC The Spy who Cloned Me is included. From what I heard, it finishes the story that began in the very first one. So I say bring it on.
I quite liked this game, actually. Would love to have it on GOG.
I still can't fathom how this great game got such a bad reputation. It wasn't perfect, but had a lot of awesome moments to it. I'd take this any day over COD and other "modern" AAA shooters. I can't think of any non-indie FPS published after 2008 I liked more than it.
Despite criticism this is a fun game and should definitely be on GOG.
This game is no masterpiece but it sure as hell doesn't deserve the mindless hate it receives. I'd gladly take a copy if it showed up here.
Don't post here games that needs Steam to make multiplayer work unless you want single player only experience. As for the game istelf it's pretty decent, shows exactly how an old days formula, design, hero would work today. Shock value of this and expectations outside the reality probably was too high to some die hards to appreciate actual content of the game. Duke Nukem Forever IS Duke Nukem 3D in new clothes. It has same design, same gameplay, same character and same weapons, enemies jusr reskinned into true 3D mechanics. As a strict SP gamer I don't mind lack of multiplayer if it will be released here, but only if they release this with ALL addons, along with Duke's Big Package and The Doctor Who Cloned Me. ;-)
i shall upvote it because i feel like being a troll
It's supposed to be alot better on PC than it's other incarnations. Besides, if Daikatana can be on GOG.com, then so can Duke Nukem Forever!
As popular as it is to spread Duke Nukem Forever -hate, it's not nearly as bad as it's made out to be. Especially so if the DLC was included. I had lots and lots of good times with it on the Xbox 360. Would totally buy it for PC if GOG.com sold it for a reasonable price and no DRM.
I'd buy that for a dollar.
Too bad DNF got Halo-ized. Uhg!
I enjoyed DNF, partially because I didn't have high expectations for it, but it was still a fun game. Incluse The Doctor who Cloned Me, and you've got a good package. To all of you who hate DNF, look at it this way, if those of us who do like the game can buy it here on GOG, it improves the chances of a better Duke coming along later, by showing that there's still interest in the duke. And besides, it's called development HELL for a reason.
its a good game fore dukenukem shooting as long as dlc(The doctor who cloned me) is included and other bonus stuff i have it on steam. ended upp buying bals of steel edition and stile love it. i can play games for its beautie and some what foregtt bad things in games that old games has . but bether idea why not have Dukenukem 1+2+3D& DNF all in one pack and forr all thoes that has bught DN3D like me. we get 50% discount or some thing. :).ps Norwegian&i have dyselexia
I just have to second omega64's comment. No more words needed here.
Ugh. No.
Actually DNF was a decent shooter. DLC "The doctor who cloned me" was pretty good, full of humor and action. Also it was better scripted than original. But original was good too. Sure, it didn't fulfill extremely high expectations from the game. But the game is not bad, it's somewhere between decent and good :) I would like to see it here too.
Instead this I would like to see complete original Duke Nukem 3D with all expansions+some modern launcher in which you would easy choose every of expansions or fan made mod
Yeah, really; this game was panned by critics, but I thought there were glimpses of true brilliance here; come on, it's not that bad. I mean, sure, it may not have lived up to the hype, but it's FAR from terrible. I agree; all patches, all DLC, give it a second life on GOG.
Include all DLC + Patches and fixes and I would like to see this game here
If someone was able to dig up the original version seen in all the early trailers and finish that (doubtful), it'd make a sweet addition to gog's catalogue. The current game, not so much.
Damn it i liked Duke Nukem Forever
Am I really one of the only people that didn't hate Duke Nukem Forever?
Why would you want this. >_<
I'm all for this only if they actually put Duke Nukem 1 and 2 on here ... If you think about it ... Forever is a classic game in it's own way.
No. Just, no. Please don't ever pitch that idea again.
