DocDoomII Dreamfall Chapters is the upcoming episodic sequel to the adventure games The Longest Journey and Dreamfall, developed by Red Thread Games, a studio founded by Ragnar Tørnquist, who wrote and designed the previous two games. mantisghost Damn it :( I have The longest journey on steam from friend Dreamfall on cd and now I do not know where to buy Chapters. I would want it in one place not so scattered but on steam it is for 13 euro for special edition but not drm free. Here it is for 30 euro but drm free and compatibility assured. Yet i would have 2 of 3 games on steam if i did pick steam that would leave me with buying only 1 of the parts. Can not decide. It would be ideal if GOG could make 3 pack for now and complete pack after all chapters released. I would not mind paying a bit more for such pack but still it hurts that steam has it for half the price.

tfishell For what it's worth, redthreadgames.com/pledge/ says, "Coming ... via Steam or GOG." So it looks like the game will be available on both services!
GoblinFX I normally only buy games on sale as I'm poor, but I would eat Ramen noodles for a month to get this game. I would definitely pay more for this. I haven't been chomping at the bit for a game like this for longer than I can remember. Help me to love GOG more than I already do.

Domaldel I donated more then I could afford in the kickstarter, about 250 USD picking the 200 USD tier because of the USB, ended up struggling with my rent that month.
I might end up buying it here too if it ends up here, the original TLJ I've bought 3 so far due to CDs getting broken and me wanting to support the game and I'm considering buying it yet again for various reasons later when I can afford it.
Now trust me, if a game can add that kind of enthusiasm from it's fans then the follow up should be worth adding too.
Just look at the kickstarter and the kicktraq page to see how amazing the support for the game was even with limited advertisement of the fact that it even existed on the kickstarter.
Please, please, please do add it here, pretty please ;-)

PraetorianWolfie I'm backing this game and want to see it on gog.com. JUST make sure you get one FINAL FULL version from the developers, because there was a worrying 0-day DLC implying update in their kickstarter update, about exclusive character hairstyles and clothes.

Licaon_Kter @Mivas: that's not the point, the point is that I'll have the Linux version on _Steam_, just like Torment: Tides of Numenera, Forsaken Fortress - the survival RPG, Sir You Are Being Hunted, Project Eternity, Wasteland 2 and whatever the future holds.

Zilzalati I too have donated for this project on Kickstarter by using Paypal. This payment method can only be done through their main website. So it's not an entire lost for those people looking out to donate without Credit Card. In any case, let's just hope GOG will release this once the game is finished. After all, its going to be out on all major platforms.

Heimdahl84 This is gonna be so epic! Both Ragnar and Dag did both Dreamfall and The Longest Journey. So there are some from the TLJ game and more from the team who did Dreamfall at Red Thread Games or RTG. I really need to get a closure to the events in Dreamfall. So good games! Dreamfall Chapters is hopefully everything we want! Since we got the Director's and co-writer from both prior games it is in good hands.
ircLimerick That's just it, they are not a known developer. They have much of the same team, but they are no longer coming out under Funcom. Still, I tend to agree, just because the team has changed names... It's pretty clear just looking at the kickstarter what the community wants. Still, only time will tell.
Vainamoinen No, it will NOT be episodic (as confirmed by Ragnar Tørnquist in November). "Chapters" refers to the chapters of a person's life. This will be one complete game.
TheNumbers Will DFC:TLJ really be 'episodic'? I remember hearing about that well before the kickstarter launcher, but haven't heard anything since. If so, what is meant by 'episodic'? (Note: the description above using the term 'episodic')

zed87 TLJ will always be one of the best adventure games ever made, Dreamfall wasn't technically as good as TLJ, but it had a great story. Dreamfall Chapters looks really promising and I'd like to buy it here on GOG, even though I've already pledged on kickstarter and will have digital copy of the game.

Vainamoinen I have so backed that kickstarter to death, they're even sending me a DVD of the game. ;) But all DRM free kickstarter games have to be on GOG first and foremost, it's just a match made in heaven.
