Bioshock completed
there should be bioshock infinite here too!
COMPLETED YA'LL!
They deserve to have this video game, wonderful in its catalog.
+1
There's also a DRM free Humble Bundle installer version
It's worth noting that the Steam version was DRM-free since like 2008 or something, so it's not like they're paranoid that people will pirate the game. They just don't know or care that this site exists and that its users want to be able to buy the game. Also, +1 for the remastered versions (especially BioShock 2, which was borderline unplayable before and is a lot more stable now).
One vote from me.
5 years since the first request and nothing happened? C'mon GOG & 2K, Get us a DRM Free Bioshock NOW!
Would you kindly?
bioshock plz
add please bioshock
Humble Bundle already had a DRM-free version of Bioshock, so it should be possible for GOG to sell it too!
I definitely support idea of buying BioShock DRM-free from GOG. But I wish there were two options: buying all games separately or as a bundle (with a price little cut).
GOG Team please, try to reach an agreement of the Developers of games BioShock, BioShock 2 and BioShock Infinite to add this games on GOG.com!
Just get windows and Mac version of this game... on huble bundle there is only the drm-free windows version... but the native mac version is also sold on mac app store.
Oh for the love of science and reason, how is this game not on here yet?!
Ajoutez-le ainsi que les 2 autres épisodes !
there is DRM-Free of Bioshock it at humble bundle
Please GOG! Please bring this masterpiece on board!
Having Bioshock on GOG would be amazing. Please make it happen!
I adore this game. It's already been DRM free, I think. Would buy again, just for GOG
It is about time GOG had this game seeing that it is available DRM free elsewhere.
I bumped the request on 2K's forums(below) and also noticed this thread requesting more of 2K's games here (https://forums.2k.com/showthread.php?642401-Take2-2K-please-bring-your-classics-to-GOG-com) The more who add their voice, the more 2K will take notice :)
The new Humble Bundle has Bioshock 1 DRM free. It's time for GOG to get this, and also convince 2K to add Bioshock 2 to the DRM free list.
I would love to see all 3 games on here!
I have the game on a DVD, but seeing it here would be just lovely, since the disc is plagued with DRM of all sorts, the worst being the awful install limit, and the number you had to call in order to get more installs wasnt printed correctly in the first version, and 2K expected you to call a number similar to their hints helpline, which would drain excessive amounts of money from your phones credit per minute. that . and it installs software that I think was called StarDrive that messed with peoples machines, fortunately I didnt experience this. If you must have it then either get in on Steam or on a console, or if the day comes then I beg you to get it here on GOG.com, without any of that DRM publishers reward loyal paying customers with.
Bioshock would be just awesome! I have it as the retail copy and steam version but versions have issues. The CD Version had a very buggy CD Copy Protection and the Steam Version is NOT UNCUT in germany :X
Let's try to make some noise in this thread at 2K games forum, so they will see that there is a demand for the release at GOG.com :) forums.2k.com/showthread.php?445511-Will-you-release-Bioshock-series-at-GOG-com-please
Got Bioshock1+2 on retail a couple of years ago for little money. The first one especially is a masterpiece. Really. Hope they appear some day here to, they definitely deserve it and tbh they aren't very recent releases either.
If they do bring it to GOG I hope they have the new game plus option. I have it on steam and its fun, but I really wish they had kept that feature.
Bioshock is already pushing a decade old, so that's "good ol game" enough in my book. The first one in particuliar had it's DRM removed recently, and furthermore, Games For Windows Live is shutting down. All signs point to this game possibly coming to GOG, that is if GOG strikes a deal with the devs/publishers. The second game will have to wait, but just to have the first would be great.
mario. that comment you made makes you sound like a total jackass nerd
this is a great game but gog needs to focuse on older games, i wouldnt mind it on the site but they need to focus on stuff like doom and soldier of fortune instead.
Bioshock&Bioshock 2 huh? These guys are having hard time releasing, even the older "big" FPS games. Soldier of Fortune 1 & 2 come to mind.
I already own this on both the 360 and the PC, and I would still buy the GOG.com version if it was available. Bonus points for a scratchy record soundtrack...
Bioshock is basically greatly toned-down version of System Shock2.
There is a copy of one area in SS2 in Bioshock, let me tell you the statitics:
In Bioshock it took me 7 minutes to go past it.
In System Shock 2 it took me 45 minutes or more.
Oh, how much I needed to be agine, how much I needed to think and do things in realtime! Not so in Bioshock! Weapons and ammo are very plentiful in quantity, and if you want to change them - no prob - you PAUSE the GAME, switch weapons, fire a shot and repeat ad ibitum.
In System Shock2, you are not playing a game. You are entering an alternative reality. Or at least -- possibly alternative reality, if Coca-Cola and Pepsico don't start another world war.
You can play Bioshock while holding a hamburger in one hand and chewing it. When you play System Shock on Win XP (thus the 3D sound works, the 3D sound is disabled in Vista and ^), you will have to give up physical functions other than breathing. You WILL be there. You will dream dreams of living on the Von Braun, with its cold metal corridors, with the draft across the halls, with everything in there.
In Bioshock, you will NEVER, EVER need to return to a place that you visited before. The threats will never fulfill -- the game system is worse than in 1994 version of System Shock, the intro room will never flood -- why? Computers of today are perfectly capable of doing it. Everything past that point will be exactly as easy and full of ammo and guns. Only in the final 'boss level' your weapons will be suddenly limited. In System shock, you will first have to learn to use your weapons, learn how to repair the, learn where to scavenge the ammo. Every new weapon cache is a feast to the soul. And when you think you are good, you will meet an enemy that will require you to find a better gun. You will have to make choices. In Bioshock, all choices are made equal and it does not matter which do you choose, basically the difference is moot. Yes, the right word is moot. In System Shock the choices will change your 'lifestyle' now, for the whole gameplay. In Bioshock, you will be rewarded by a different animation in the end. Pfft.
SHort version: Bioshock is neither good or old. It will never be good. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is 10x better even with a broken storyline and scripts, all that Bioshock has unique is the shiny water. Even the A.I.s are dumb. Really, really dumb, fo real. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. has a simulation of a human body, vision, hearing, abilities, radiation exposure, shock reactions, vision distortion on hit/sniping and other features. Bioshock is just a "hold hamburger in one hand, controller in the other hand" game.
A DRM-free version of Bioshock needs to happen immediately. Seriously.
I have this game on Steam, and to me, the DRM is practically nonexistent (except for the usual Steam thing). Still, it'd be nice to see this game here.
Davdaretbb, you have completely not understood what gog.com is and why it is necessary. The Bioshock triology should be on gog.com, DRM free. Because Steam absolutely is not. I wish people would finally understand that.
I wish people would stop asking for games you can get on Steam already.
bought the game installed just fine then game bugs put this game on my shelf
Agree with everything said. I dislike Games for Windows (and furthermore, having TWO overlays in my GFWL and Steam titles), and I also hate that the servers are offline for patching. :(
Nothing more to say. I played the Bioshock demo back when it was new and was looking forward to the game, but refused to buy it for 2 reasons: 1) draconian DRM 2) censored version in Germany. Now I am not someone who needs blood and gore to like a game, but I hate being told what I can see and what not. Also, the censored versions are usually native German, and I hate to play translated games. What's more, it is not illegal here in Germany to buy the uncensored version as long as you are 18. However, publishers do not feel it worth the effort I guess. In a nutshell: Bioshock please. ;)
Never played this game due to DRM. Hopefully gog will be able to something about that!
If there was ever a game that needed/deserved to be "rescued" from DRM, this is it.
I thought BioShock was one of the best games to come out of 2007. It's just a shame that a draconian DRM scheme was used on it; were it on GOG, I would snatch it up in a heartbeat, and gift it to at least one friend, if not more. Hopefully 2K will respond, and stop hiding behind a now-dead and festering whale demon spawn known as SecuROM.
Would buy this in a heart beat if it were DRM free.
I want bioshock DRM free and multilanguage (with spanish).
Bioshock is a poster child for an incredible game that was ruined for many by a horrendous DRM scheme. To see this on GOG would be quite a significant milestone for the "DRM-free revolution".
Actually, the buyers of the retail version should sue 2K in a class action, because the patches cannot be downloaded outside of the game, rendering their purchase worthless.
