When I click on new game it shows empty slots and clicking on those slots does nothing. The slots look the same as those that appear when you click load game. Linux version.

The normal demo, version 0.4.7.

You're asking if there is any kind of odd permissions on the save directory? It's set to read and write for the user and read only for the group with the same name as the user. There are also two files inside and both are set to read and write for both the user and the same group.
I sent this over to the programmer to see if he had any ideas. In the meantime...would you mind it if I linked you a copy of a save from the very start of the game (before any dialog starts) that you could try to Load from and then see if you can play/save/reload fine from then on out?

It's really hard to understand the issue here. It might be something regarding permission because somehow the save file is not written on the disk, but there might be something else as well.
Any chance you could give me the Player.log file that you can find here:

Thank you! I tagged the programmer (ReD) again and let him know you got this posted. I'm wondering if the issue has to do with the:

Unable to preload the following plugins:
libsqlite3.so

And later:

I know the save files use sqlite. Then again I also know other players on Fedora and Steam Deck are playing this fine...and another person on Mint. So kind of odd.

But that's just me guessing based on what I saw and not being the programmer. I had better stop "guessing" and leave this up to ReD.
