Hi :)
Does anybody else have this kind of problem? I'm on the second map of the first campaign, everything runs smooth. I have about 2% unemployment rate, more food than my people can eat in months, everything's fine. But all of a sudden, my whole city emigrates o_O Every single home I've built over the time on this map shows beggers, leaving the town. Honestly: Is this a bug? I'be played this map 10 times now and exactly the same happens every single time. And no matter what I try to get my economy running again (like shutting down timber production, increasing importance of distribution,..) nothing works. My town is a ghost town =(

Anybody else got this problem?
(and besides: Thalos in town is no problem. My settlement is far away from hin, on the eastern part of the map at the water)

If somebody can help, I'd be very happy =J

Have you built something that blocks the entrance road? Try deleting a few buildings and see if immigration starts again.
That's weird. Any chance you could give us a screenshot of your city?

Well I can think of multiple reasons why this happens:
1) Are you in debt, if you are in debt for long time, your people hate you and leave
2) What about your popularity? If its low, again residents will just leave your city.
As you indicated your unemployment is low (2%), i m excluding high unemployment
3) Also very high tax rates
4) Very low payment rates.
...
actually emigration is a normal process in the game , people leave regardless of your actions , check in housing it should show the number of people that can come to the city along with "people wish to come to the city" or else the reason why they are not coming.

the only legit way to prevent or attract people to your place is by building the sanctuary known as Aphrodite’s Haven or check that there are no monsters attacking the city
Hi
Thank you for your replies. Took a while for me to find some time to answer...
I've tried two more times, each time with the same result. About the possible problems:
1) I'm not in Debt. I start the map with always about 40k [insert currency here] and when the mass emigration starts, I still have around 30k =/
2) My popularity is rather high, since
3) I let my people pay almost no taxes and
4) pay them much money

Oh, and nothing blocks the road, either.

I'll post a picture of my city the next time it happens. Right now I'm just a tad bit too frustrated ^^°
But thank you for your replies, it helped me nevertheless =)

Hmm what is the types of houses when they start emigration cause it might be that you run out of food or food granary is far away from your pagoda leading that no food comes to houses and same goes for fleece and olive oil (which ofc depends on the level of your houses).
Also there is possibility of no water reaching the houses ( add more water fountains) or crime rate is very high.
A picture of the block that is emigrating and your city will certainly help in nailing it down
A similar thing happened to me. A big city, working like clockwork, and then BAM, mass emigration all over the place.

I did some testing and asked around zeus.heavengames.com, and I believe I found the problem.

It appears that the game has a hard cap on the number of walkers inside the city. When your city gets big enough, new walkers just won't spawn. As a result, your houses don't get the things they need and devolve.

At the time the game was made, this cap was likely implemented in order to spare the computer from what was then considered a large memory sink.
