JClosed: We will see, we will see. My experience is that these games come on the Galaxy installer first, and as stand-alone installer later. And what's wrong with having the demo here on GOG? If it's in your library after that, it's probably under the full game, so I don't see any problem.
And no - I am not going to buy the game on Steam. I have the whole Nihom Falcom/Xseed games library here on GOG, and I want to keep it that way. I want to have a stand-alone installer for those games. I do not like to have a mandatory client running just to download and install my games (and in some cases even to be able to run my games) like Steam does. That's simply a personal preference. If it's in any way possible I always buy my games in a format that does not depend on any client to install. That's not Steam specific by the way. The same goes for things like the Epic store and other store platforms.
You can argue I still have to download the installer, so I am still depending on a store front. However - Here on GOG I only have to download that installer once, and can store the downloaded files on any medium I like. After that I can install the game on any device I want (that meets the minimum requirements), at any time I want, and without needing any client and without needing any connection to the internet.
Did you even read what I said? Please actually take a breath and look next time before going on a multi-paragraph rant because of something I never said. I never suggested anyone should buy the game on Steam. I said if the demo is that important to anyone they could download the Demo on Steam, and then buy the full version here.
And if you care so much about offline-installers and have all the Nihom Falcom games here on GOG, then please submit a ticket to GOG support about Trails of Cold Steel IV missing the offline-installer for the "Cold Steel III" Costume Bundle DLC.
I'm sure you're aware, but it's a DLC that you can only get if you have both ToCS III and IV, and there's no offline-installer anymore. It's missing now, and GOG support has confirmed the problem, but I would like help to get this issue fixed promptly.
