I am completely baffled about GOG version, if it is community edition or not.
As far as I can `read` around files, it is not community edition, but again when I play the game there are features that were advertised in community edition, like radar lines while placing bases, or helpful annotations on soldiers while behind cover etc.
Does anybody know for sure if what we download in GOG is XCE or not?

It is not community edition.
In the latest official updates of the game, the dev implemented some highly appreciated/very useful features from the community edition (with approval of the mod devs of course). That's why it may be confusing :)
The game you download on GOG is the official vanilla game.

Aha! I suspected so, but was confused with those implementations. Thanks a bunch!

Thank you, that's good news.
Just so everyone is aware a new version of the community edition has been released.
I installed the latest X:CE Mod (0.35.1), and it does show that version in the Launcher.
But, since I am old 62 years old, I want to be sure I running that version of the game.
Is there any (screen) that shows what version of the game is actually running, or as long as the Launcher shows that Version in the upper-right corner, we are good to go?
Secong Question-On the Geoscape-Is there any way to PAUSE time passing? Does time passing pause itself on any of the other screens?

You can tell you have the community edition by checking the soldiers lost in action screen, that was created by the community edition and is not in the published base game.

I don't think you can pause time unless you are in a base(the other screens). But the slowest time is almost real time and in this game on the Geoscape realtime is very slow indeed.

Good to know. I think then I also going to plug in the CE because that's one point (from several others) that disturbed me, why it wasn't in the vanilla game from the beginning...
