I played this back in the day. Was the glitch with the road vehicles ever fixed - aka instant destruction when a hole was blown into roads, etc. I also remember some other kinks with road vehicles ...

That's a shame. I do remember someone made a patch to address it, but it was ... problematic at best.

Never fixed by the developers

HOWEVER

Roadwar mod (get it at Strategy Core) has an option for armouired and invulnerable roads

OpenApoc (Still at Alpha) has the option for both natively (as well as All-Terrain Driving for the Tank and APC)

Sorry for delay in getting back to you. I may try Roadwar to see if my old savegames files are still intact. I will certainly look at OpenApoc. Good luck with that! I commend developers trying to re-created the best of the old classics and appreciate all the hard work!

Yoy will need to start a new game once roadwar is installed - it won't update existing saves
But once activated it makes road vehicles viable again
