X - Beyond the Frontier and its addon have some issues with Win8/10. Like huge, visible window border frames even in fullscreen and such. Are they fixed in this release?
This question / problem has been solved by HaaYaarghimage
Bought the pack will check for you
The game run very well on Windows 8.1 and 10, there are no visible borders of any sort. I've been playing for a while on Windows 10 without any further problems.

You might find that game set you a weird resolution, like 640x480. I recommend changing it as you might experience distorted font.
Everything ran smooth as butter no border etc only problem is it crashes at 4k settings. Every other setting worked fine.

Is it indeed fixed for you in the GOG version? I wish I knew what they'd done to make it work...

They use a wrapper to circumvent or eradicate the display problem. You start the wrapper which starts the game. Problem fixed.

Hmm... I hope Egosoft will let Superbox owners register their CD-keys here. They can be registered on Steam and so it seems like a good candidate for "reclaim your game".

I just downloaded my Steam version to check, if the wrapper can be applied to it ... and to my big surprise, it was already there! "runme.exe" and "runme.dat". Egosoft must have made a silent update to the Steam version.

Oh, well in that case that wrapper has been there for a while and has nothing to do with GOG. It also doesn't seem to fix the window border bug for me.
