I find that annoying too. Almost as annoying as having to completely re-download BG3 every time they patch their game, while the people who bought it on Steam only have to download 10GB.

I'll only buy good old games here in the future.

agree. this is just unacceptable. we are in 2025. i guess i have myself to blame for this. it was cheaper on here thats why i bought it but its not worth the aggravation
I'm willing to wait a day. I am sad, but I want to own my own copy of the game. I have X4 on Steam too, but I've quit using Steam, aside from finding some mods. They can remove my access to the games they say I "bought." That's not purchase, that's rent. I hate that. I'm learning to use this GOG. I imagine there were unfortunate circumstances. I do understand everyone else's point of view, about the delay. It's all frustrating. Cheers to everyone.
Today?

Tyberias1980: Today?
Let's hope. The strange thing is that the sound track is already available, but the Hyperion Pack is not.

And if it becomes available, let's hope you can download it without having to use that Galaxy thing. I have all my games stored on a local NAS, and only use off-line installers. Since the launch of that Galaxy, GOG often treats their non-Galaxy users as second class citizens. I hope that will not be the case here this time...
GOG were given this code from Egosoft at the same time as Steam.

I guess they are just a smaller less efficient team.
To everyone insisting that GOG is horrible and they'll never use it again, please calm down a bit. Egosoft has a thread on their site where they've admitted they made a mistake in this release and didn't give GOG as much notice about the date of the update as they usually do and what GOG recommends to help them get things out on time.
Yes Steam's system is a bit better and easier for devs to use than GOG but GOG's isn't horrible, it's just not as good. I'll still take owning my games over some small inconveniences. Update should be out soon.
Hey all! Apologies for this delay and the lack of information. Hyperion is set to release today, in 30 minutes!

Once again sorry and hope you'll enjoy it nonetheless.

You can download the patches or if you want the similar convenience that Steam has you can download and use Galaxy.

Unless there's something I didn't catch your complain makes no sense.
Advertising Linux but there is no Linux version for me to download. :(

Yes, that was the same thing with all DLCs so far. Timeline was released for Linux several weeks, I think it was more than a month, after the releasedate. Especially when you want a different language rather than english. The DLCs are all-language packages, so you can use which file you want, but the patches aren't. You need to wait for "your" language to be created and uploaded. But rest assure, your money is gone on day one.
I'll only buy games without active development on gog, I've learnt that lesson with X4.

I'm always going to buy from GOG as it is one of the few platforms that support drm free games. It's the closest thing to owning your games like in the old days. Steam requires that you login every few days and forces updates on you whether you like it or not. It is the biggest marketplace for pc games though so I am not surprised Egosoft will push updates there first. If you are alright with having to log into Steam every few days to keep your games working, as well as keeping it's drm framework installed on your computer, good for you. I have limited internet access. Sometimes I have to go weeks at a time on no or limited internet. It is unbelievably annoying to be required to have to log into steam to verify ownership of the games I paid for. I can't roll back to older builds either if the latest build breaks my favorite mods. When Skyrim and Fallout 4 came here, half the mods developed years ago no longer worked on the newest build. Even games like No Man's Sky, Dysmantle and Dredge no longer work with my favorite mods so I just don't play them. I am afraid X4 7.5 will be the same. I'll guess I'll find out. Fortunately, I still have my old working build, which I can fall back on if this one fails. I'm pretty sure Steam does not support this kind of thing. Well, to each their own. I hope Egosoft will continue to release it's games and latest updates here, even if they're a bit late.
