After finishing the main plot of x3:albion prelude, my terran reputaion sank to rock bottom. All stations in terran space appears red and I was attacked on sight when entering core terran sectors.

I haven't been able to do any trade with terran stations, nor was I able to find any pirates who are willing to hack terran stations for me.

Is there anyway to gain terran reputation back?
Find Terrans offering illegal missions outside Terran territory. Things like assassinations but be warned that those will hurt your reputation with other factions. Remember the missile trick!* Repair your standing with the others before it drops too low then back to more nasty jobs for the Terran. When you get it up a bit you can kill enemies of the Terran in Terran territory.

The improved mission briefing mod is very nice here.

* "Stray" (fired by you or your subordinate) missiles that kill a ship in a sector you are not in (any longer ;-) ).
I haven't heard of this missile trick before. Is it possible to use missiles OOS? Last time I checked all of my missiles disappear after I jump out of sector.

BTW isn't Terran and Commonwealth at war even after the plot? How could terran ships survive long enough to offer missions in Commonwealth space?
I just may be confusing it with Terran Conflict :-/ Been a while since I have played X3 thanks to the game not being the version it says it is for Linux and my saves are broken. Maybe the missile thing does not work or maybe that only worked in Reunion or an earlier version of the game. My memory is getting really bad :-(

If I remember right, the war can end if you do the right plots in a way that ends the war.

Need input from others.

You are able to end the war in the plot if you want to, AFAIK. But then again I only play sandbox games, where war is eternal (very realistic modelling of actual world realities :).
Oops. I already finished the plot, and I didn't even notice any option to end the war.

Can any one of you enlighten me what need I do during the plot to end the war? I don't think I have any save game left for me to correct the course.

Out of curiosity do you guys think it is possible to go to Terran border sectors and assault argon ships to raise my terran reputation?

My argon rank is field marshal, and my terran rank is insurgent. Maybe if I kill only small argon ships I can fix my terran reputation before argons turn on me, yes?

I haven't actually played it myself, but from what I remember the decision to end the war or not came at the end of the "Shady Business" plot (not the main AP plot). More on it here (mind the spoilers).

I would not hunt Argon ships to raise my rep with the Terran, but rather the scourge of all races in the X universe, the Xenon. Any Xenon you kill in a non-Xenon (and claimed) sector will count as a rep increase with the race that owns the sector. In the case of Terrans, Segaris is where they usually show up in numbers. Good hunting!

The problem is, xenon ships rarely enter segaris in Albion prelude. They are more aggressive in terran conflict, though. I went to segaris in a kestrel and waited for a few hours, no xenon enter the system. I entered the xenon sector myself and tried to provoke xenon into attacking me, but they still won't follow me through the gate.

I'm looking at this corporate plot. It is one thing to end the war, but will it also restore my terran reputation?
I managed to bring back my terran reputation to revolutionary by raiding argon ships in terran border sector. Then terran stations started to offer missions.

I finished one escort mission and was instantly granted Mars access.

I hope getting on good terms with terran s won't break further plot missions.
Good job! It is always hardest to climb up to one below neutral as then your options open up a lot, as you found out.

You actually need to be on good terms with both Terran and Argon to start the "Shady Business" plot.

Edit: Actually, not to start it, but if you want to end the war between the two.
