hello, i'm beginning
with X Rebirth

and i'm really confused.

1) i"m around a space station, while near, ok, i can find it. If i get far from it, i found no way to target it, so to move forward it. Only way i found is to approximatly go in the 2D map sector in this direction. And if the station is hidden by a big rock, let's say like at the beginning, i'm just lost

2) i immediatly got a mission "easy" "find lockbox", Lookout Alpha Dormant Bear
when active, i got no direction from helper on the center screen reticle.
still at the beginning, maybe triggered when i selected the "exploration" tutorial.
Ok so well then what ? l saw a youtube tutorial, unique lockbox with long range scanner are yellow circle.

i don't have any yellow circle. I found one by pure luck not too far from the station thx long range scanner, which is messed by the profusion of dead objects. Opened it. Mission not validated. so

how to find normal lockbox ?
do i need to upgrade some equipment ?

3) about aiming with precision with the mouse, for dogfighting, or shooting those lock on lockboxes for instance.
when i fire, it fires straight at the middle of the screen. I think i saw videos where you can aim at the mouse cursor, not the middle of the screen. ??

4) about "tutorial" in game, i selected exploration, it told me short stuff, and now it's no more available. So if i didn't follow, am i just screwed ? cannot do it again ?

5) is there a page for real noobs, ergosoft wikia is... not for beginners, it's just a reference guide.

-about lockbox, at the beginning, it seems your scanner is so crappy it cannot distinguish rock from lockbox.
-about aim & shoot with mouse, in control settings, there is 3 assignable hotkeys, shoot, shoot at mouse and shoot missile, 2nd one is my answer
-when you are lost, how to go back to the station, i'm not really sure yet, though if comm are available, you could talk to someone, ask him where to find him, and then there is a pointer to him like for a mission

Yeah, as I said, I haven't played Rebirth yet, but it's kind of the same in x3tc. Takes a while to get some real cash together, so you buy can buy decent equipment/ships, ect., and increase your empire. Once you do, things move along quite a bit easier. Steady influx of credits, better ships, weapons, and much better(harder) missions that earn you big bucks, and you can actually do them, because now you have the resources to accomplish them. That's part of what I like about x3tc though, because once you put the time and hard work in (like in real life, lol), the game becomes more enjoyable as you go. It can be a little frustrating and difficult early on, but feels great once you get to the point, where you now feel like a bit of a force in your universe.

Can't say about Rebirth, but either fighting missions or trading are generally the best way to get money early on in my game. Later, I have found some really high paying missions building stations for the AI with my own Orca TL ship. If you come across any good ways to make some credits early on, keep us posted! :)
