Yeah same problem for me. I downloaded and installed the 32-bit version. Am trying to find a solution.
Hello,

Not sure it has been solved for gettyrk, there was a double post and we replied to that one:
https://www.gog.com/forum/wonder_boy_the_dragons_trap/wbexe_failure

"Could you post your wb.log file so we can identify your GPU?
Are your system and GPU at least the minimum specs? Your GPU needs to support DirectX feature level 10. "

Let us know,
Sorry for the issue.

I'm sorry Andrew, the "Intel(R) Graphics Media Accelerator 3150" is way below minimum specs to run the game, and it doesn't seem to have the feature set for DirectX10.

May I suggest to ask for a refund for the game?

Hi Omar, I've just found out who are you and your background around Sega Master System game preservation, emulation etc. I usually only download "old games" and I'm used to them working. I'd probably only think to check the specs if it was a game that looked a bit too new for my computer. I probably felt that a remake of an old game wouldn't be a problem.

I don't think I'll ask for a refund, because the game has audio files of the original music. Sounds mad I know, but that music is still worth something to me. Of course you've also included an SMS rom of the game, which I can play on MEKA(I got past some of the sound problems by playing the rom in Japanese version mode).

I wonder though, is there a way to play the new game soundtrack i.e the FISH files? If I could play them, I'd feel less embarrassed about not trying for a refund ;)
Thanks for the kind word :)

Yeah it's probably not obvious, but the game use uncompressed high-resolution textures and lots of blending/overlays/transparency in the parallaxes. We tried to optimize down to Intel HD 4000-5000 types of GPU but it's the best we can do without compromising the effects and texture quality.

You cannot play those directly, the audio data are meant for seamless looping so they are not best fit for a soundtrack experience. You can stream the soundtrack on Bandcamp, I'm PM you with details, or could you e-mail me?

That's ok I found the soundtrack at Bandcamp
I had the same failure but I just noticed it doesn't support Windows XP. So no DX 10 support. I'm not sure why this game would require DX 10, as I'm a developer myself, but I guess it all comes down to what you use to develop the game. Will play on another system.
