Does ANYONE here remember hopping on top of trees and walls and walking from scene to scene inside the game? I cant seem to remember how exactly to do it... Any help out there?
Yes, it can be pretty fun! Though I've always had more luck with Vanish manipulation. Basically, aim your camera up (alongside a town gate wall is the best location), and hold/repeatedly jump while sprinting. Then once you're on the wall/trees, sprint along while moving your camera around in whichever way it helps the most. Some people have more luck with upward camera, some with left/right...and some just get stuck in place regardless, though it can help to switch graphic modes. Also helps get into the Serpent Temple belfry a lot quicker, without stacking as many boxes.

Edit: The same up/sprint/jump movement is fun for water hopping, too. It's way faster than the boat or raft, and great for fully clearing the map ! Would be helpful if someone decides to do a modern speedrun. I think someone on the old forum managed around 23 (?) minutes with an imported party.

Thank you very much. My lead character a pixie has 12 athletics and is under minimum encumbrance weight. But I still cant seem to jump on top of a tree of a wall. I used to be able to do it. I was afraid that the new version of W&W had nerfed it. I will keep trying. I just remembered that certain quests required it (Tree surfing) so I was concerned. Plus it was always a lot of fun to jump up and go exploring.

It's possible to use a treasure chest, crate, etc. as a little boost to help climb up the town wall. Some crates or barrels from Toad Village are enough to get atop the trees near the Oracle cavern. So there's still some possibility, even for a short character!

Hmm..all the quests I can think of (that require sequence breaking due to improper order [seed quest]) can also be solved via Vanishing through the tree walls. Of course, it can be time consuming finding the appropriate weak spot in the trees. But once found, these spots are a good time-saver for later playthroughs.

[(Warning, Spoilers!-->)] NorthofA'sShrine and trees totherightofTorin, for example. [(<--Warning, Spoilers!)]

Nice idea climbing on top of a chesst etc. BUT... Always is one... I tried several and they disappear upon leaving the dungeon serpent temple Shurugeon etc...

There's chests in every outdoor area. As I mentioned above, Toad Village has quite a lot of objects. These can be drug past Oracle Cave (if you need one outside Serpent Temple) or climbed on before to skip Oracle Cave (to avoid part of main quest). Past Ishad N'Ha, explore and there will be chests among the trees. Can also hop off the upper part of Shurugeon.

You are freakin brilliant! I totally forgot about the outside chests. I found a old treasure chest nw of shurugeon. Carried it back and jumped on the chest... And TahDah was on the wall in 1 jump! Ya saved me. Seriously. Thank you so much...
