Hrakis: I too cant run wiz 8 it prompts me to allow the game to run then nothing Iam really annoyed and quite frustrated. couse i really would like to play this game

eloyard: Contact GOG support, they've solved it.

In my case they sent registry file that removed one registry key. That made Wiz8 start without issues.
wiz8fix.reg? I might have to get back to support again, so far it doesn't help for me. It's weird that the game will launch from installation with the launcher but not afterwards.

Yeah they sent me the file along with other trouble shooting tips/suggestions. The funny thing is that I got it to finally work but was unable to change the in-game resolution from the default 800x600. After reading other posts on how to fix the resolution problem i somehow manged to undo my progress and now i cant play it any more. Though I hadn't' started the game yet I shouldnt' have messed with it at all after i got it working. After reinstalling and trying the same process of getting it to run again, it won't work still. :( Guess i'll just have to wait it out and hope they do update it for Win7.

Go to the support page, pick Wizardry 8, then pick "Wizardry 8 does not launch"

It will tell you exactly what to do to fix this, which involves downloading wiz8_fix.exe. Run it as admin.

I couldn't game the game to start at all. I ran this program, and now it runs just fine. So, I FINALLY get to play this game!
