Is this not the last area? or is there just a lot to do here? ready to see this quest finished and tackle a new one.

Garran: What you *do* need to watch out for is enemies using Eye for an Eye.
Noted.

Garran: ..., so as long as you're casting them at a green power level, you're safe. ...

townltu: I remember quite well when a lvl 3 Death Cloud and an insane RFS ended one of my Wiz8 IM runs,
the spell backfired although the caster had PL 1-6 green and PL 7 more green than yellow.
Since such things are extemely rare, the rng probably does not work linear.
I just had my first character turncoated but thanks to the people on this post I hade Sane Mind ready and it was a non-issue

Very little playtime the past couple weeks but looking forward to the ending still.

I'm still in Ascension Peak. Realized that the zone is 3 separate sections so I'm only 1/3rd through the zone... if only game time was easier to come by.

2/3rds of Ascension Peak done. Peewee was a chump I think he only hit us 4 times, lots of HP and huge! On another note, Crystal Rainbow Unicorns with instant death spells and turncoat? really? lol
Honestly I never found status-effect spells to be a problem in the late game, but that's probably because I make sure to keep Magic Screen 7 up always and to keep my party's resists balanced and high (Cloak of Many Colors, etc).
SPOILER ALERT if you don't want to know the ending don't read ahead.

The End of my amazing journey has come. I found I had a daughter AL-Pop and killed her.... I found out that the Dark Savant was actually Phoonzang an exiled Cosmic Lord and changed the universe as I knew it. I left Ascension Peak traveled to the Cosmic circle and became the new Cosmic Lords such an epic ending and so well written and narrated!

I would Like to take a moment to thank everyone who contributed to this thread over the months I was playing this game your help and comradery as fellow RPG gamer's was much appreciated. I'm so glad I live in a time when classic gem's like this are easily accessible for all!

Try siding with the Dark Savant and see what happens.

I know I could just reload and select a different option but that would be doing my party a disservice.
Greatz mate... I enjoyed living the quests again and it nice to see this old game getting some love.
Congratulations! I enjoyed this very much. I'll always remember my favorite team that got quite far, I called them Team Critical(guess why)
Now that I am finished I'm looking forward to moving on, but part of me wants to roll up a new party and dive back in!
I think if I went back through I would want to experiment with multi-classing with a plan from the start. I want to try a Lord, Psionic, Bard, Bishop and some kind of Fighter/Thief and don't know what for a 6th. If I do play again I'm thinking it will be quite awhile or a slow paced game.

Thanks! now to find what game to tackle next so many choices that I have purchased over the years.

I think I can guess why and thank you.

nothing too rough just didn't remember too much instant death effects outside of this final area. With a priest, ninja and ranger all able to resurrect it wasn't much of an issue like it is early on.

Maybe in my next adventure I will see what alternate ending I can come up with and destroy the Umpani or T'Rang instead of saving them both, maybe kill some NPC's who knows.

How about using a Gadgeteer? Gadgeteers get a unique weapon that grows in power, are good with Locks and Traps (better than Bards, so your Gadgeteer can use them), and gadgets that are like Bard instruments, but with a different spell list (including such spells as Noxious Fumes, X-Ray, Superman, Guardian Angel, and even Asphyxiation!). Also, don't forget the multishot crossbows you can make from them, as well as a glitch dagger made by combining two daggers (I think it's supposed to be a doublestrike dagger, but I think you get a nameless dagger that no one can equip or something like that).

Again, Bards and Gadgeteers should be female so they can use the stamina regen items you find early in the game, and you find two of them, so having both a Bard and a Gadgeteer won't be too much of an issue.

For pure casters, I happen to like the Alchemist if I am thinking long term; spells like Noxious Fumes, Toxic Cloud, and Quicksand are quite useful. Then again, Psionics do get Psionic Blast which is like Freeze Flesh in that it can hit enemies you can't see, but unlike it in that it actually does damage. Of course, Bishops can get both spells, but Ferro won't sell them until level 18. (There is a scroll of Toxic Cloud that you might have found on your previous playthrough, however.)

If you want to experiment with multi-classing, one setup that works well is to start with a Priest, make sure she learns some of the important spells early (in particular, Armorplate and Magic Screen. Of course, it turns out that Armorplate can be cast by a gadget and Magic Screen by a musical instrument, but you won't have them before you get those spells) and then change her into a Lord. This gets you important spells early and delays the 4 levels of no spell learning until later.
I have selected my next Adventure! its off to The Temple of Elemental Evil with the Co8 new content mod!
