So I'm trying to use a character editor for Wiz 6. Just for fun, I've got a Mac.

I've managed to find a character editor (Wiz6ced) that runs on Dos. I found a few that run in windows, but I couldn't get a WINE emulator to run them, and I'm not tech-savvy enough to fix that.

Wiz6ced wants me to specify the savegame location, which is usually savegame.dbs. But I cannot see that anywhere inside the wizardry 6 package - I've found everything else (including Scenario.HDR and the rest of them), but even after I save a game - no savegame.dbs shows up.

Can anyone help?

Alternatively, can anyone help me run a different character editor?

Isn't this in your other post?

Step 7: Use Editor as normal; however, make note that saved files are in different locations, again for Gog, the path is:

Wizardry 6

Z:\Users\<your username where game is installed on>\Library\Application Support\Boxer\Gamebox States\com.gog.wizardry-6\Current.boxerstate\C Wizardry 6.harddisk

Gydion:
No, and I don't understand why.

If I use CF to go to C Wizardry 6.harddisk, it opens up a list of Wiz 6 files. Those files include scenario.HDR, but not savegame.dbs.

So CF will make changes to the scenario file (so I can change the loot drops, fix bugs, etc) but it won't recognise my save files.

I'll try to take a look at this later. I would think savegame.dbs would be shadow-written under ~/Library/Application Support/Boxer/Gamebox States/. Not sure if the GOG build is till mounting that directory separately though.

Thanks, I'll check that out tonight.
That is it!!! I didn't realise that the boxer savestates were packages, each with their own savage.dbs file (I'm new a this)

Thank you very much :-)
