Hi guys, just bought Wiz 8 and loving it. Only problem is that cutscenes are not showing, only the sound plays while I'm looking at a black screen. I've already tried compatibility modes and they don't do anything. I need help, anyone?
Maybe it's the same problem I had (http://www.gog.com/forum/wizardry_series/scrambled_cutscenes)

do you play on a laptop? if so, try setting battery power settings to "High performance."
I tried setting compatibility to the setup and exe to run the game to win xp compat service pack 3. I tried setting my laptop to high performance. Still the cut scenes are frozen for me. Not sure what else to try...

The game uses .bik (Bink) video files, or does with my old disc version. It could be a codec issue.

Give this a try:

Go to the link below for the maker of the bink video codec, download The RAD Video Tools (which includes the codec), and install it. Test and see if that does anything for you.

I tried downloading the RAD blink stuff and installing it, but no luck. The cut scene starts, I can hear the sound, but all I see is a frozen version of the very first frame and nothing else...
