Xandax: If GOG managed to get out WC3 and/or WC4 running decently - I might even buy a joystick again.

I have both (in 2 versions) and an older computer to run them on, but it's not working quite right :( - so hope GOG will bring it into their game list.
Not sure what computer your using now but I've been playing the CD versions of both games fine in Win 7, 64. Using compatability mode only 256 colors, and screen resolution 600x480. No problems at all.
You should know by know that there is nothing us windows 7 64-bit users hate more than another windows 7 64-bit user bragging about how his version gives him no problems. :)
seriously though, I think getting ANY game to work on win7-64 is a roll of the dice.

seriously, this is how I see a user compatibility study for windows 7 happening.: (Bear with me, the [code] tag doesn't work here, so I apologize for the messy unformatted bit below, but I know that REAL windows 7 users will get a kick out of it.)

You could probably give 10 different people the exact same computer, same setup and hardware, the same game, and watch as 4 of them get it to work, 3 of them cannot, 2 get it to work but with major glitches and errors, and 1 guy is missing. Everyone tries to find him, but no luck.
Then you realize your hunting rifle is missing from the wall, your ammo box is empty, and your car is no longer in the driveway.
The only clue you have is a map with the microsoft corporate office circled in red.

So you tell the group what has transpired. After a VERY short discussion, it is clear what Subject 10 is planning.
Subject 4 declares "What are we waiting for? We have to call the cops!"

20 minutes later.....

Subject 3 and 7 are helping 1 rip up the carpeting. 5 and 8 are in the kitchen preparing food. 9 and 2 are in the bathroom scrubbing the bathtub with clorox.

A car pulls up outside. Subject 6 walks in and stares at the others. Number 3 asks him "Did you get it done?"

6 rolled his eyes and replied " Of course I did. I put it right in front of his garbage can, and then stopped at the payphone to call the cops"

Subject 7 cackled loudly "Oh man, I wish I could see the look on Bill Gate's face when they find the bag!"

6 looked down sheepishly "I'm not sure this was really neccessary guys... I listed to the police scanner this whole drive, and there has not been any chatter about Microsoft HQ..."

7 and 3 looked ghostly white as the color drained from their faces. "You mean 10 didn't go through with it?"

Subject 6 shrugs his shoulders "You would think that a full auto rifle and 800 rounds would have alerted SOMEONE. Maybe he just robbed you."

He left them to think about what they had done to subject 4.

Subject 6 looks toward the kitchen. "How's it coming, 5 and 8? Aren't you almost done?"

Subject 8 stares at 5. "Hey, I can finish up here, you go get the grill started'
5 nods, and heads out the back door.

Becoming very animated, 6 yells " Damnitt! You guys havent finished with the steaks yet?"

Before the apologetic subject 8 can answer, the front door bursts open and a dark figure appears in the doorway.

"I like my steak medium well, 5, don't you burn it!"
Subject 10 tossed the rifle onto the couch and closed the door behind him. His clothing was caked in drying blood and red smudges covered his face. He tried to wipe at it, but just kept spreading the blood around.

Just then subject 2 entered the living room his eyes wide open, staring at the sight before him. "But, 10, how the HELL did you get past all that security!? No one called the police or set off an alarm!?"

Subject 10 smiled, and chuckled to himself. "Oh they hit the alarm before I even made it into the building, and I must have seen at least 20 of those corporate jerk-off's on their phones, calling in the authorities."

They all looked confused. Subject six, still shaking his head in disbelief said, "I was monitoring the damned police radio! There was nothing going on!"

10 smiled, his cheeks curving upwards in a devious smirk. "Oh they did call the police, and like I said, they did trigger the alarm. But wouldn't ya know it? Those bastards were running windows 7 too!"

... considering I've seen it on sale on amazon and ebay for $100+ in the past... ;)
+1 the DVD edition would be AWESOME. I'd buy several to give away as gifts.
Since I am a huge WC fan I just wanted to mention that I will gladly buy anything WC related.

And while I am making wishes... not that I am expecting miracles or anything, but Tie Fighter Special Edition would be nice.. :)
I'd love to buy WC4 from GOG. But why the DVD version? It's identical to the CD version, and the way GOG customizes the games CD swapping is not an issue anyway (see WC3).
The DVD edition has higher resolution videos. You can view same examples here:

There are actually two DVD versions-a "single sided" DVD that's all six CDs on one disc and then the "double sided" one that has DVD-quality versions of all the movies. Avoid the former! :)
I actually have the game on ps1 - its virtually unplayable due to the ps1 controller not being amazing for flight/space sims - would love to have this on pc
